Confield

Dunno whether anyone remembers (or was even here) when I
said I bought Confield beggining of last year:

I bought this album and hated it, saying I would take it
back. A few said "keep it" (might have been woofer), "you
might like it in a couple years" and "you'll regret taking
it back to the shop.".

Well.... I took it back then and now, one year later, I'm
tempted to buy it again.

What a silly man I am!

there are some records that are growing in you with time-
you didn't like it at first but later you can not live
without it. i had this problem once with saw2 and later with
"go plastic".

...saw 2 for me too.
I don't listen to that often, but I start to like it more and
more.

...saw II for me too and with Gantz Graf only after the
visual set live with very high volume.

Confield is really awsome.

I don't have confield either.
I heard pen-experts on the radio, and I had to turn it off.
It was like the worst chaotic noise to me.
I was not ready for that,I guess.
I wonder if I am now......

I love confield, and it is about to be my fav...but it also
had to grow on me... I am right now listening to it, thats
why I entered this thread...

bring it back again... ;)

do listening "too much" to chaotic, noisy idm makes you
consider melodic music like weird and hard to get into?

no- i think it made me more melodies-sensitive. i luv
melodies and before i started listening to electronica i had
been oriented more rythmically.

I must be sick, as I loved Confield from the first second.
That first track sounds like a fucking ritual to me... From
the very first listen I rated it as the best AE release so
far and it's still up there. But as I said yesterday, I'm
really into anal music...

i dont have all "confield" tracks (i have to buy this
record- ae are worth it) but it IS very impressive thing.
personally i like cichlisuite most but ep7/confield stuff is
a step further.

I am sure you know what I understood when you said that
yesterday... well its clear you like that double meaning
game... I do to.

:-)

clot has left out to clot......but whats anal music?

anal music- music which you're not feeling by your ears. You
feel it by your ANUS!

Ha, ha, ha, no, it's the music you make with your anus, you
know: the art of farting out simple melodies and perhaps
even some words on top

saying words through your anus is only for experts.it could
be dangerous! remember that kids!!

seriously now: anal retentive (or something) in psychology
is someone regressing to their anal stage in childhood: the
stage when they were learning to control their anal
sphincter muscle. Basically anal retentive character means
you are egotistical, pedant to the max, really obsessed with
detail and a bit selfish. In music criticism, being anal
about your music is being extremely pedantic and obsessed
with details of your production (often rather than having a
big picture, luckily not in AE's case). Drukqs is a good
example.

how can music be anal then?

offline Steamtank from Melancholia Isle (Poland) on 2002-05-30 13:14 [#00242305]

remember that anus is using the same nerves as clitoris or
penis.

so you like drukqs or not...I am sorry my english is not
good enough to follow you.

I think I understood that anal music is that which give the
maximum importance to the detail without worrying about the
global result?

offline Meho Krljic from Beograd (Yugoslavia) on 2002-05-30 13:22 [#00242321]

Netlon: not the music, but its author

Nacmat: ah, sorry about the english, probably even the
native-speakers can't follow my barbling. Well, I think it's
safe to say I like parts of drukqs. A lot of it is just
farted out without second thought (like a random selection
from the "Sketches" folders on RDJ's harddisk) and parts of
it are technically stunning but otherwise empty (in
"aesthetic" or even "spiritual" way) (i'm starting to talk a
lot of shit, don't you agree). In principle you're right,
but being anal doesn't necessarily means you don't care
about the whole, but often that is the case.

you damn right bout drukqs being made in an anal way...
that's what i luv the most with it, it's total lack of
consideration for you or your ears
>:D i always want to smile like on rdj's cover when
listening to drukqs caus you understand he really don't give
a fuck!

Confield is amazing. I thought that when i got it, but I
didn't think it had lasting power. Though lately I am back
at it.

Supreme you heard pen-expers on the radio? Man I gotta move.
