Anybody else a fan of the talking heads here? If so, what
are your favorite songs and albums?

for me, albums would be-
Fear of music & remain in light

& songs-
pull up the roots,
mind,
heaven,
burning down the house,
once in a lifetime,
air,
crosseyed and painless,
making flippy floppy..

i like "the overlord", they wrote and recorded that song
after reading a review of the new band joy division,
emulating their style........ without having ever heard one
of their songs. give it a listen bearing that in mind.

titsworth, yeah the overload is the last song on remain in
light..i heard it referred to as being joy-division-ish in
reviews, and i definitely saw that, strange though, you mean
jd was emulating the heads? i never thought they sounded
much alike

offline titsworth from Washington, DC (United States) on 2002-05-30 01:16 [#00241416]
Points: 14550 Status: Lurker

no that's not what i mean
i mean TH literally read an nme article about this new band
called JD, analyzed the adjectives the writer used to
describe their sound, and TH made a song like that

offline Ross from Canada on 2002-05-30 01:33 [#00241432]
Points: 366 Status: Lurker

ohh sorry about that titsworth, i thought you meant that th
read a review that at one point said jd were emulating the
heads..that's an interesting concept though, and the end
product imo sounds good for trying to get that sort of sound

This must be the place (naive melody). the beat is so dope.
Its on the album Speaking in tongues.

Once in a life time and burning down the house are good too.

born under punches
radiohead (the song where radiohaed got their name)

shit shit shit, i have forgotten a lot of the names, but a
great album is "more songs about buildings and food", but
remaining in the light fucking rocks the house.
