Geogaddi: did it stand time?

I can remember when it first came out, everyone was like
"this is fucking brilliant!!!" - me included - and i thought
it would never leave my cd player. and i thought it was
better than MHTRTC.

But since, it has been living a life down the side of my CD
rack, often being ignored for MHTRTC.

opinions? how much have u honestly listened to it in the
last 2 weeks?

I ripped the best tracks off geogaddi and mhtrtc and put
them on one cdr, needless to say there are about 4 geogaddi
tracks and the rest are off mhtrtc.

haha!
I bought it 2 weeks ago...
it's still fresh!
I've listened to it 9/10 times.
That's a lot, because I spend most of my time on my
comp.(then I listen to mp3's) or not home.

Geogaddi for me isn't to great anymore. I still love
Gyroscope though. Best track on there IMO. MHTRTC is so
much better. More tracks with drums. Geo didn't have that
many.

i listen to it occasionally,

some of the beats in the songs destroy them. if they had a
better clue on drums than those songs would have a much
stronger effect. i dig their melodies but the beats are
horrible.

I can't listen to it anymore. Last week it was raining and
I thought it would be perfect, I didn't make it throught 2
tracks. BoC may have run outta gas.

I got both of those cd's just recently, and I'm
fairly certain that I like Geogaddi better as a whole, but I
think my favorite track off either one is Roygbiv..

I just downloaded "Vegetarian Soup" 30 minutes ago and it
has stood the test of time.

Can you judge if something stands the test of time in a few
months? Shouldn´t we come back to this topic in ten years
(or more)?

It certainly isn't on the level of Music has the Right to
Children... I listen to that a lot more than Geogaddi.

But Geogaddi has three tracks that are just mindblowing, to
me... 1969, Music is Math, and Dawn Chorus. I want them to
keep it simple and straightforward, and they do that in
these three tracks.

I would agree with Phecks...It is DEFINATELY NOT
MHTRTC...but its DAMN good....and DAMN close

"Music has the right...." is on its OWN LEVEL...by itself...

Yeah, let's all bookmark this topic and come back in 2012.
Have a big Geogaddi reunion! I'll be 29, I wonder what music
I'll be into by then...

Its a tough call saying what IDM or ANY music will sound
like in 60 years....Hell after CONFIELD and what Ae have
done....It has ALL been punched up to a NEW level...a NEW
gauntlet was thrown....There is NO telling what will come
next.....

He´ll probably still be making drill´n´bass just worse
than the stuff he´s been doing in the last 7 years.

He'll move on to doing Erik Satie ripoffs exclusively, I
bet. I'd really like to travel a hundred years in the
future, see what music will be like... what else is there to
be done that hasn't been done yet?

I sort of have to be in the mood for it, or get in the mood.
it's pretty intense. much better than mhtrtc, though. I
don't necessarily judge music by how often I listen to it.

yeah, first when I bought Geogaddi I loved it so much, more
then anything in my collection... that was half because it
was new, and fresh... now though, it's still up there, and
is a damn fine album... it's not quite as good as MHTRTC,
but it's pretty damn close!!!

I still listen to it all the time, though it may not be as
good as MHTRTC, it's still a dawm good album start to finish

Geogaddi is THE summer album to listen to when you're
walking outside or driving w/ the windows down, or hanging
out at the beach. The synths in the tracks are like musical
rays of sunlight. I think it's at least on par with MHTRTC
(which i just officially bought, so that's been in my CD
player much more than geogaddi lately).
