pictures, all movies, all music... everything! This sucks!
..Just put in a new one. Have to reinstall everything. Like
I said.. this day is crap! ...by the way... anyone have info
about repairing harddrives?? hmm...

It won't happen to me anymore.
I learnt my lesson.
I have a good antivirus+firewall now,
and I make a backup every month.

Hard drives are so cheap compared to the time invested in
the stuff on them, it makes sense to buy a second drive and
set up a mirror in your operating system.

Unless your stuff is worthless...

hungrig,
the exact same thing happened to me last sunday. I lost all
my files too. Even some of my work that I hadn't burned on
cd yet! I'm fucked!

There are companies that can restore usually 100% of
information from any hard drive failure.

I mean, fire, flood, drop it out a 50 story window, they can
usually get it ALL back.

Costs a pretty penny though, name is Drive Savers, from
Novato, California, USA.

The were able to salvage tons of info from all the companies
that had computers in the WTC, so yours would be no problem
for them.

Dunno if there is anything easier, maybe e-mail them and ask
if they have a simple solution.

I'm getting a new harddrive this week, I need more space.
I've been waiting months for my uncle to put it in, it
seems...

Anyway, he has to fuck around with my unpredictable
computer, so I backed up all my porn and other stuff to
CD-R.

MP3s can be erased, I don't care... I really don't mind
re-downloading them again from Soulseek, I did it last
summer... but the porn, I mean, I don't want to lose my best
porn!!! Hard to find.

i'm back. actually managed to get the fucking harddrive
started again... placed it as a "slave" and it slowly began
to work after a few hundred reboots. now everything is
backed up on my other harddrive... feels great. the transfer
was a bit strange... my old harddrive stopped working like
once every 2 minutes. very frustrating. oh well... that's
over and done with. thanks for your support! computers hate
us. sometimes. :)

you people have way too many mp3's. I don't know how in the
world you listen to 3600 mp3's, unless your on your computer
every waking moment everyday.
