how easy is it to mix tracks on a PC? do any DJs just use
their computer rather than decks? i dont mean just to add in
samples, i mean play and mix the actual tracks as mp3s on a
computer.

cost(decks + vinyl) > $my_bank_account;

:)

There is some specialist hardware you can get a set of 2 7"
decks with blank vinyl on it. It's plugged into midi and
used to control speed and scratch. From what I've heard you
assign an MP3 to each of them and they spin jsut as though
they were really being played on vinyl.

Yep I think it was between £2000-3000. I heard them talking
about it on radio 1.

If you wanted to do it in advance, you could always convert
to wave then mix it in cooldedit. Mind you, it'd be
impractical for live stuff..

i had a lame thing called virtual turntables before... but
it was crap, it was basically a program with pitch controls
etc with mp3 players so you could mix the mp3s

it wasnt very good tho
