...i was just posting on this "metal" thread....by the way,
are there any punks in this MB, if so, what bands are you
into?
I happen to be an old 1977 Misfits fan, also into Operation
IVY, Germs, old Rancid and The Hives.....anyone else?

;)

mostly the older punk from the early '90s from riverside,
cali and around the US and alotta ska bands at that time
too, untill the local scene dried up.

I'm really into the clash at the moment. Rock the Casbah is
probably the best single ever released.

I hate all this new 'punk' - Blink 182, Sum 41 etc. Its
absolute trite. Thank you Green Day.

Most of the punk attitude is a total sham, lie or
hypocritical statement. Defenitly not cool.

I saw Bad Religion 2 times, Misfits, SNFU tons of times,
NOFX, Rancid, Pennywise, Swingin Utters, Guttermouth, h20,
Planet Smashers, Goldfinger, AFI, and a few others... just
for punk.

sum 41 wouldn't know a punk if one jumped out of drink cart
on their private jet compliments of their record label of
course while on tour somewhere backstage with hot chicks
getting fucked up.

I used to listen exclusively to underground punk/indie
rock/hardcore punk/emo bands... My fav's are/were Sunny Day
Real Estate, Hey Mercedes, Braid, Owen, Cadillac Blindside,
the Weakerthans, Saves the Day, Hot Water Music, The Pixies,
and Strike Anywhere.. Oh and thats the longest metaphor I
have ever seen EVOL, hehe ;)

I've seen Pennywise and they were poo. Sick of It All (at
the same gig) were great though.

The only band who stay true the punk ethic these days is the
Offspring. Them guys is pretty fly fo white guys, uh hu, uh
hu.

The Hives?
Is that really punk?

i dont think so , i would classify the hives under indie

i did old 80's and early 90's punk like

nofx , old beastieboys, zeke , old bad religion, pennywise,
anti flag, bad brains, old misfits , minor therght , the
exploided, fuigazi , rancid , prophagandi
, and that all i can think of right now

and i tottally agree that blink 182 and sum 41 are just a
bunch of tossers who wouldent know punk if it bashed their
faces in while they were riding around in there fucking
bmw's and sipping champegin
