hehe .. nothing like procrastination :)
re: RTER (ie TE) man .. you're really starting to feel home in this floops business :) .. this song takes on a meaner edge than before - and in a way is quite nicely mechanicalised (?) i absolutely love the scatterbrainedness of it - yet it remains coherent in some strange way hehe .. very lovely .. (was going to say that it goes on for a bit, but i just realised that i had it looped :) ..
veare naice .. hows that demo ep coming along ? hehe ..

i've got the mp3 .. so might just stuff around with that ..
i should really make a quick visit to tauranga sometime and get my virtual pc sorted out - that way i could load floops onto my computer and single out the different layer of yo tracks (would make mixing that much easier) >>!!! mmhhh...

That vas fedy intades tink
The original track is weird in that I need to listen to it at the right time or be in the right listening mood for it to sound good. If I listen to Rter, then listen to mine RIGHT after, my track sounds very pale and weak , and very slow in comparison, like a naked salamander without the bionic armor you added. but if I listen to it on it's own without comparing it to anything, it sounds decent/quirky/weird. (I had the same problem with my track "music is dumb" I listened to track 9 off "marion" right before it once and it sounded so slow and lame in comparison, mostly slow and hardly detailed relatively :)
I was wondering what you'd do with it (you made it so quick too!), it turned out very wicked (listened to it about 5 times ((alternating with the original track)) before I responded) Yours is much more gritty and detailed and faster, and tied together, less.. abstract maybe, more tied together with chaotic but still somewhat more linear percussionish stuff than what I had. You definately "flea'd" it, it sounds very fleaishly chaotic :) Thanks a lot, I rillyishly enjoyeeed ifit snarf *snkaler* It's fun to see what someone else comes up with, there's like an angry dog barking in your mix, you diced up my song and put bits of metal in it, my track is definately weaker sounding overall, but has a structure arranging the whole thing, where the future sounds are determined by what the present sounds are. I'm thinking about neosnarfing your track. I have like this inferiority complex so I have to make something better than the original, heh heh. That'll be hard to do :?

Iam glad you liked the remix..I was kinda unsure..but I have to assure you the only thing I added was the drums..the rest are all your own sounds tweaked and rearranged...I sliced your track into about 210 equal parts and then eliminated the parts with too much silence..the rest I fed through the grainulizer..(about 20 tracks)..tweaked inverted, reversed, scattered up and down the scale, pasted into about 30 little rhythmic parts...so except for the drums and hihats etc..all you hear is your own stuff :)..the dog you called is one fo the lower register mumbles..stretched and reversed..:)...you shouldnt be down on your track..if it wasnt for your excellent source materail the track wont have anything but a rhythm track:)
cheers

This is interesting to hear how you did it. Do you slice it by hand into... 210... equal parts or you put it in some super slicer 2000 and type in "210" then push "time cook 1: 40 seconds" or something? what's this "grainulizer", it sounds interesting. (20 tracks, whath u meanf by fat snarf?) It sounds like this thing aphex talked about like recycle or something where he said it's helpful cuz it slices up stuff and makes samples easier.

there is a beat slicer and grainulizer on fruity loops...I set the slicer to slice up your track into equal parts of 1/8th note length..grainulizer..is kinda like a grainular synth but you can actually modulate wav files with it...speed em up slow em down randomize then etc etc..

that sounds better than modplug trackers bells and whistles. I could slice up a wav but I'd have to type in alternating 64's and 0's (loudest and off) in the volume column, then play the wav to get bursts of sound... then save this as a wav and slice up the obvious parts where there are gaps of silence, THEN alternate the 64's and 0's (to catch all the silent gaps I missed) and do it again... it takes forever basically. Floops works with loops? can you describe how it basically works, how come stuff sounds so random if it's based on loops? The only way I could understand that possible if each loop was a different length so that they were out of phase with eachother. You probably know how modplug tracker works, kinda like impulse tracker basically or any other tracker probably.

I am amazed at what you can do with the tracker..I just dont have the patience..Floopshas loops but you can endlessly export and import stuff and keep building pattern upon pattern upon pattern reloading it as a single instrument... the randomness comes from the varying length..rather wrapping them you let them play out..
gotta go now..
cheers
