Well, we've been exposed to Drukqs and there were a few
mixed opinions. What would YOU like Aphex Twin to do
(musically) next time?

Did you ever see the apparent coverscan of it? I saw it
somewhere and It reminds me of Hard Normal Daddy... little
green men on a planet and shit.

Yeah definately remix and re-release some older stuff... I'd
love another RDJ mix of Windowlicker and alberto balsalm.

I'd also like him to re-issue HAB etc.

And I want a Satiesque classical piano CD and another ICBYD
style album.
I want more AFX techno stuff too.

well i´d really like to hear something of all the stuff he
said once he won´t release because he thinks it´s toooo
weird (something i can hardly imagine imo) ... dunno ...
i´d like to hear the rest of the songs on the lost mp3 :)

I was thinking of a CD where one disc has "recent" remixes
of older tunes and the other has his more "abstract" work...
like or something...?

Fuck, that would be worth waiting for!

finding that fucker..... :)

I wouldn't mind seeing him do a DVD as a completely new
audio/video experience, but for the actual sounds for his
next release it would be good if he could pick up where he
finshed on SAW2, I like the minimal stuff when it's done
right,

offline doki from cologne (Germany) on 2002-04-30 15:03 [#00200927]

yeah cj, more aphex techno would also be cool!!
(i´m pretty tired at the moment of all this talking about
how bad and primitive a 4/4 is and shit .... it can be the
most intelligent music imo if you know what you do) ...

What about a program on a DVD that would be used as Bonus
Material (obv...) where you could take existing Aphex tracks
and load them into your PC to do your own version or
something...?

fernz: dunno if it exists, he said it in an interview and i
know that´s the best way to make believe it not, but i do
somehow ... finding that fucker YEAH :D

cool idea with a splitted compilation ... but in the end i
must laugh, cause i guess we want him to do everything we
want to hear right now :) (techno,sicko-stuff,saw stuff,
minimal ...)

If its true then Im jealous... :)

I see your point. We all want different releases... aint
exactly a one sided opinion i guess.

i think he will move away from the beats once more - he has
pushed drill'n'bass to a level where it can't be sustained
any more.

i think the piano tracks are a message to us -- i think he
is going to write a modern symphony under the tutelage of
philip glass

I think she could be telling the truth, she's good enough to
be IMO. If it's true hang onto those "demo" MP3s, they'll be
sought after in a couple of years time.

Fernz

That track kicks ass

- tho the supposed collaborations under MEN sound incredibly
appetising .. and i suspect (if this ever happens) a bit
more schizoid :) ..

Be cool for an interactive idea thing, if he had his
programs (ie. the beat parameters and melody parameters and
such) where one could interact or something .. so that
everytime it will be a different song .. ?? mmhh..

offline Fernz from A Scottish Wanker (United Kingdom) on 2002-04-30 15:13 [#00200947]

Didnt someone say in a thread sometime ago that there was
some kind of "message" for the people on this site..? Id
kinda like to know what was meant by that...

offline korben dallas from nz on 2002-04-30 15:14 [#00200949]

Marlowe: I don't know .. i think there is still a LOT of
place where jungle can go .. I mean in terms of harshness of
sound perhaps not .. but in terms of arrangement and such -
?! *4a

I remember the old "he taught his computer to write his
music" rumour... just came to me when you mentioned that
every track wouldnt be the same twice kinda thing.

Points: 24578 Status: Lurker | Followup to korben dallas: #00200949

well i think the arrangement can only be taken so far -- i
truly think the boundaries of drill'n'bass have been reached
- he will have to take off in an entirely new musical
direction to remain ahead of the pack

offline doki from cologne (Germany) on 2002-04-30 15:22 [#00200958]

what do you mean by hidden message here??

the new twerk you get has three songs on it that the
computer produced completely alone ... pretty weird

offline doki from cologne (Germany) on 2002-04-30 15:23 [#00200959]
Points: 494 Status: Lurker

i dunno - it´s not good to always "go ahead" of something -
there will come the day when you look back and there´s no
basis anymore to start of to anything ...

Processed alone...? Shit... thats cool. :)
I dunno, I just remember someone said "Aphex Twin left a
hidden message in Drukqs for all us aphex.nu'ers" or
something. Whether that was for fun I really dont know.

offline marlowe from Antarctica on 2002-04-30 15:27 [#00200966]

maybe if you convert the track names in the hebrew numerical
system, the secret message will appear

offline doki from cologne (Germany) on 2002-04-30 15:28 [#00200967]

would be cool if he does something like saw 2 stuff or so,
really getting deep into it and everyone thinks he´s lost
the pace and then comes back in a few years with something
the world hasn´t heard before (again :)) - if i had all the
money i would put a big amount in science to get me
something (biocomputers/nanomusicrobots, etc. ... you get
the idea) that really never ever existed before -
nanomusicroboters to squeeze the sound out of your soul in
the biobowl of the never seen organuter - soemthing like
that :)

offline korben dallas from nz on 2002-04-30 15:28 [#00200969]
Points: 4605 Status: Regular

Fernz, yeah .. it was the rumour that made me think of the
idea .. :)

Marlowe .. true in a sense, but i think it could still go
further in that sort of direction (probably wouldn't be
called drill n bass anymore .. more like drill and
jackhammers or something ..).

It still seems way too linear to what it could be ..
(although probably being the least linear music out there).
??
mmhh..

Either, (or both):

-a DVD compilation of his videos. It would have to have CTD
& Windowlicker of course. It could be like the Criterion
collection's Beastie Boys video anthology, with multiple
angles, director/artist commentary, and remixes for each
video. That would be very very nice, but will probably never
happen.

-Failing that, I'd like to see a new album of stuff like on
ICBYD and the CTD EP. Like somone said in another thread,
we need more happy aphex songs like Alberto Balsalm and
IzUs.

melancholic - wintermusic :))

heard it)

i would have the time to do ... but dunno, i would not
really like the parade i guess, more the surrounding stuff
in clubs - pretty wicked things going on there ...

I'd like some old stuff, noisy techno..something similar to
the sound of Classics..with a good smash single like come to
daddy or windowlicker.i think drukqs lacks this sort of
songs

I want another I Care Because You Do... a fusion of the
rough, dark, and pretty sides of him. A really balanced
album, which Drukqs is NOT... even the RDJ Album is too
wacky, ICBYD has this serene calmness that he doesn't bother
with anymore.

i don't want him to do ICBYD 2, or RDJ album 2, or drukQs
2... i'd prefer him to do something new, as usual (for what
i know)... maybe with more wicked melodies, and less wild
beats... i like them but i'd like him to do something
different :)

Well, I would love for him to re-release the two habs on one
album, and something new along the lines of I Care Because
You Do, or SAW85-92 would be nice for me...

i'd love to hear some of his "weirder" stuff that he's made
and not released (surely, there must be tons), and what
about analogue bubblebath 6 ?? also some reissues of his
older stuff, like hab 1+2.
