I think it is a princely £2. Worth it for the photo though.

Oh man,

I just went to buy it but couldn't. I fucking hate the NME
so much. I made the effort to pick it up and everything.
Sorry jand. I won't bu yit for the same reason I never buy
from HMV. They are too big for thier respective boots.

By the way it is £1.50

off now, no doubt to eat your quails eggs on frois grois and
sip your fine wine from the finest crystel glassses.

whilst us scrubbers have to read the NME.

I agree - the NME really is so shit I feel embarassed when I
pick it up to read it in WHSmith. Hardly ever worth buying,
not got one for 9 months. Was shit then. The writers have no
passion, it's all false IPC directed features.. but it's
getting that way with the self congratulatory dance press in
uk as well

its not very good. i used to love it though when i was
younger-it had a lot of my fav bands in it every week. now
its just full of the shite 'new rock'that america pumps out
along with the indie shite that britain pumps out. along
with lame ass 'dance acts' (snigger) and its graphic design
and lay out suck in parallel ratio to the crap thats
written. do you reckon though that its an age thing? i
dunno, maybe 17 yr olds really dig it but they wont in
future years for the same reason. maybe i m just patronising
though. oh well it is shite nowadays and has been for some
time...

No I am not posh. I used the money I saved to go to the
market and get some good fruit and veg. I'm down to earth,
me.

I'll tell you what blew it fo rme was when I had a look at
what other pictures were included in the booklet. I cannot
abide by some of that stuff. It was full of kerazzy rock
stars of yor doing mad things.
I thought what the fuck am I doing buying into this crap. I
like the twin for his music. I love the way he is faceless,
he misinforms everybody and rides the media circus with a
wit of steel. HE plays up the old rock generation of which
NME is an intrinsic part. He is playing them now and is
fucking them over a treat. Now NME are trying to fuck me
over and be part of the hype.

No sir, I am going to stick to the music. Pure and simple.

offline KEN from BIRMINGHAM (United Kingdom) on 2002-04-25 14:34 [#00193650]

fair play to you sir...no doubt you listen to your music
loud at the yachting club and later retire with fine
brandies and fine cigars, to exchange the latest rumours on
wall street dips and dives, and maybe take in a fox hunt on
the way home.

(ken sniggers into his coffee :))

I got band from the yauchting club actually. I was playing
flaming arseholes and burned Vice admiral Duggan's
matchstick ship. Fuck were they not happy.

Is your coffee fair trade? I bloody well hope not! Those
pesky schemes could loose me a lot of money if they get
popular. So please all of you stick to nescafé, that way
you can be assured of ill babies in africa and underpaid
people in South America, and of course a very rich me.

I wouldn't wipe my dog's arse with the NME. Its full of shit
indie music and hype.

7 magazine and Razzle are the only mags I buy. Oh, and
Caravan Monthly.

when I went into WHSmith I couldn't find the NME intitially.
I had to snoop all over the place. Fuck me there are some
funny 'hobbies' out there. 'Toy Tractor collectors monthly'
to namme just one. Are these pastimes particular to England
or are they common all over the world??

offline KEN from BIRMINGHAM (United Kingdom) on 2002-04-25 14:44 [#00193657]

aaahhh jonesys!! we were getting worried!!

it's side parting weekly for me, along woith readers dogs
arses. bow wow wow!!

no doubt quernstone relaxes overlooking his vineyard witha
copy of the 'wall street journel', a copy of 'cosmopoliton
(1000th richest italians edition)', and a copy of 'just
seventeen'.

nme stands for 'now mate with emu's'-its another terrible
ken fact.

NME may have gone seriously downhill recently but it's
nowhere near as bad as the shite dance music press! The
reviews section in the back of those magazines always gives
every single 12" 4 or 5 out of 5. The articles are shit,
they're full of ads and the covermounted CD's are 9 times
out of 10 the most boring trance crap.
The only good CD I ever got with MUZIK was the one mixed by
Layo & Bushwacka!, that's class, but overall those magazines
just stink, especially Ministry.

'which toaster?'

Now you come to mention it. I have been looking for a
rotator gudgeon for my old Gnamron 180 toaster. Are they
still available? The chap in cirencester that used to sell
them passed away a few years ago.

you're having a laugh aren't you? the 'gnamron' series was
discontinued in 1972, when the manufactureres 'brevel' fell
into disputes with their union over recent pay increases to
congomerate members. jesus. i thought every toast fan knew
THAT.

spank some of my nubile grape crushers in the bottega below.

Smash Hits does have better reviews. My friend Ben does page
layout/design for them and he played Fennesz' Endless Summer
in their office, they were into it. But I don't think it got
reviewed.
