shit man, i´m so freakin´depressed about Layne Staley´s death that i can´t focus and write any positive things in this MB....why is that stupid_ass human behaviour..."we miss what we no longer have???"....... rest in peace Layne, you blessed my younger years with your music and your voice....may God keep your soul.

OK, I'll get sappy (no pun intended)
Alice in Chains "Dirt" was the first album I bought when I got my first paycheck from my first job. Some of the first songs I learned on guitar were AIC songs. I've got Mad Season and an old long sleeved AIC shirt that I still wear all the time.
I'm bummed out about Layne. It seems stupid, but I really am upset about it.
All day, I listened to my AIC stuff... even the bootleg stuff from the 80's.

i was reading an article today about Layne....found out that his GF died a few yrs ago from a drug overdose.
DRUGS kill......people think they can handle them, that they are so strong....but they take over your life. we lost so many years of great music because of his addictions, it's such a shame.....thats why it's doubly bad, because he's gone, but he was gone musically way before then. sad sad sad

I remember seeing him on the MTV unplugged. He was so wasted that Jerry did a lot of the vocals. Layne just sat there wearing his dark glasses, rocking back and forth. I knew he was gone.
I actually thought that Scott Weiland would go first.

shannon's daughter was 3 months old. kurt's daughter was young (Francis Bean or something like that). Francis has kurt's blue eyes.
Art Alexakis kicked heroin, but I don't know too many others that did.

i have that book .....the letters between the brothers.
yes....it's sad because despite all his fame, money, etc.....no one really cared about him.....at least not enough to notice him gone sooner than 2 weeks.....it's frightening....but you never know if he drove people he loved away. i know i couldn't stand by and watch someone i love destroy themselves with drugs.......if i couldn't help....or he didn't stop....i'd leave =0(
