A couple of days ago I tried to rip a danish hiphop album.
BUT when i digatally copied the album it was all jittery
after 3 seconds in every tracks. First i thought it was my
PC that fucked up again, but then i tried my other PC and
the same shit happend...then I copied it all in analog mode
and it was all ok. Have any of you rippers out there
experienced the same problem?

You need a dedicated 'standalone' copier then! Does the
job wonderfully ;)

You think thats bad? Wait till this summer when a few
popular artists are coming out with little tiny discs.....
they are cheaper than cds, about the size of a dollar coin
and hold 5 cds about and information/pics. They are
extreemly protected, no way to take the info off, this is
supposed to be the future of music protection. I say it wont
last.

Do you think there will become a time Reflex, where you have
to 'buy' music full stop?

Jedi Chris::., yes and no..... Its hard to say, they really
are pushing for it, but there are artists and groups that
are fighting to stop that. IN all honesty I dont know, I CAN
and we probably WILL see them try to make it that way, but I
doubt it will work as they wanted it to.

Junktion: no.. Ill find the article for you... its
different.

"March 4, 2002 - This spring, Sting fans will be able to buy
Brand New Day in a brand new way -- a way that will allow
them to access concert videos, other Sting albums, still
photos, downloaded bio information and just about any other
digital data on a disc the size of a pocket coin. "

Here is the link with A LOT more info.... Dataplay

Junktion: yeah but.. you cant burn them or anything....... I
dunno I just dont see it, all it is is trying to throw money
into a rottin cd economy that THEY think is actually rotting
but its just getting borin..... whos gonna buy new cds they
already have? stupid. Maybe if the same 200 bands didnt
sound the same over and over.. geez.

Get an iPod by macintosh... holds 200 songs and fits in your
pocket. upload right through your computer.. download songs
right onto it through whatever you use to get mp3s.

it could do the same as DVD did...a multi-purpose sytem with
all the artist information you could need...but then again,
we have the internet

It's now basically illegal to circumvent any digital copy
protection (in the US at least altho the EU have similar
laws on the way)...so expect more copy protection on things
rather than less; these CD's are only the start...

Do a Google on DMCA and check it out...it's something you
should know about, if you don't already...

Junktion, you should return that CD to the place where you
bought it - unless you were forwarned that you could not
copy it for personal use.

on the other hand nearly 20 years of developing new copy
protections did not lead to any result

Reguardless of the advances in Copywrite Technology, there
will always be people who manage to find a way through the
protection to circulate them.

The seed has been planted, and the weed has sown its roots
throughout the international music comunity.

This DataPlay is disappointing. I would like the next format
to be solid state, something similar to SmartMedia or
CompactFlash.

Why do we still need to have discs spin around to play
music?
