joystick/pad control to move within near to real life
looking 3d environment.

using a gaming home pc, 4ghz 4 core hyper threaded

It's one thing to render a scene offline..but to move
through with a joystick?,
wow, quite amazing 2017.

All the lighting is baked I assume and as nothing is
interactive and the scene is very small (comparatively to
levels in games) the big system hog is probably textures.

that's the thing with computer graphics its so crisp they
really haven't got the cruddy details in yet they need an
algorithms to do grease and smears and imperfections that
aren't just photographed repeated textures

I remember the paris demo from a couple of years ago blowing
my mind, especially in vr

And yeah the real work is in adding the trillions of
imperfections like arse marks on the sofa and grease on the
walls to make proper realism

the cpu has to render the reflections, lighting, textures and
i presume the shadows could be rendered into the texture
maps but i've seen things move on other demos ..and as
things move shadows need to move too.

this type of thing would take 100 times longer to render 10
years ago and on a predetermined path for the camera to
render.

they will be using some sort of weird proprietary Japanese
engine with outdated tech I reckon.

They will do what they want but they certainly wont give me
back my 50 bucks back from kickstarter, man I love Shenmue
so much, I kinda believed in it, now with the latest footage
of the game I kinda wanna download sonic mania and slowly
cut my wrists in agony

but Shenmue gets me mad, It's at the point where I dont want
all the backpackers shits, I just wanted the game, but
seeing the development so far it's a joke. Such a shame
really Yu Susuki. I guess he didnt meant bad at first but
got overwhelmed by the project... It's gonna be a
disaster....
