I saw the repeat last night. My mate said to watch it but I
thought 'nah'. It was good though. When she broke down at
the end and the guy was in the loo!

The dig at the Alchemist was funny.

Do you guys watch Teachers? I swear, its one of the funniest
programmes on tv, the script is so good!

i dont, but i saw a snippet of that bloke who used to play
'egg' in 'this life'(i used to love that at uni-fantastic
programme) and i found his character to be a bit of a smug
bastard...would that be a fair summary?

It would Ken. I fuckin hated that cunt. He does loads of
voice-overs (like that other cunt John Simm) and I wince
everytime I hear his voice.

My girlfriend watches Teachers and its shit. Sorry Ray. I
prefer your show.

Well yeah, but thats his role...he's mainly in a 'taking the
piss' attitude. The black guy and the pe teachers are the
funniest, they are like teachers I know

And yes, this life was excellent!

Yeah, it's brilliant. My dad reckons it's proof the BBC
*can* still make good TV.

After watching last week and looking for our copy of Lolita
I found "Ada or Ardor" by Nabokov which is now one of my
favourite books. Really good story about incest, brilliantly
written and in 4 languages. Wild.

Was that the original version that went on to become
rewritten as Lolita? Lolita is a great book and I got lots
of funny looks last year when I read it in public. This
country is so uptight and rightly deserves to be ridiculed
by Chris Morris.

Ada or Ardor was written after he was kicked out of Commie
Russia for writing Lolita. There are references to the
Lolita fiasco in it, like the place in Texas, America called
"Lolita" that changed it's name after the infamous book came
out.

My dad's a big fan of Nobokov and he reckons Ada or Ardor is
his best work. I'll definately give Lolita a go once I've
finished this though...

As to reading "obscene" books in public, I used to read
Henry Miller on the bus to school, that turned som heads :)

Did he write the Tropic of Cancer? Is his tuff a bit
explicit then?

The fact that you were reading was probably what turned
heads.

Yeah, I was reading the tropic of cancer and tropic of
capricon.

I always used to read on the bus, load sof people started
doing it after I did, it was just one of my mates was
reading it over my shoulder and thought it was just porn :)

Well done Ceri. You have mad a major contribution to adult
literacy in Barry. There must be at least 5 people who can
read there in now.

Sorry mate, I went to school there and like to have my petty
little dig.

I didn't go to school in Barry- You think I'm mad enough to
*read* on a Barry boy's bus?
