seriously though thats the main reason i lay pc stuff is
because the games i like are more suited to a mouse and
keyboard, i reckon duke nukem 3d is the best fps of all
time

then there is all the abandonware. and emulation stuff, i do
kind of want to play the latest games but in 5 years time i
will probably have a new pc cobbled together from old parts
i will be able to play them and they will be dirt cheap,

i used to play quake online
but the skill level of the other players was way too high
even with wallhack activated it was hard to compete

Jesus Christ this thread is sucking me in…must….resist

….the urge to post is strong....

Imhotep Quake 2 is the best FPS - I still play it, it’s so
much fun. There’s just something about the mechanics of
that game that feel so right and satisfying.

I remember watching a lot of porn and playing Quake CTF back
in the day on the old crunchy modem.

I assume you dudes have some source of income. I’m also
hoping that there is some surplus left, after feeding
yourself and paying for your accommodation, with which you
like to treat yourself to some form of gratification. IF you
are so inclined, you may want mosey on over to good old
games, which, IMO has some real FPS gems for good prices.
And most games will run on your old fart machine. And and
GOG has a sale on right now. Recently I played a bit of the
first far cry, that runs pretty good on a fart machine,

Wow, I'm such a gog fanboy. I'll shut up about it now.

as for this FPS controller issue....doesn't it have some
kind of aim assist? Check the options menu.

game consol controllers will always suck, when games were
starting to be dual release for PC/console they tested
matching the worst mouse/keyboard players against the best
controller players and they still lost. one thing you should
do is use strafe for finer aiming control

just played thru the first doom game on ultra violence it's
not too hard but i got stuck on mt erebus for a couple days
before i could find the blue key

to nightmare

anyone played sin before?
the first level is really cool, set in a bank robbery and
you are a cop who goes into there to shoot out the bad guys

offline umbroman3 from United Kingdom on 2016-11-04 15:18 [#02506595]

sin came out at the same time as half life
all the reviewers hyped up half life and gave sin bad
reviews because it had a few bugs in it
still not a bad game though
quake 1 engine just like half life

I've never played that many games, apart from really
back in the day on the Spectrum, but Quake II I had on my
first PC and I played that A LOT.

More recently I play Splatoon with Little Lol on Wii U,
where I suck against the Japanese. And we've also, very late
in the day, got into Team Fortress II (PC) where I am a bit
better in the Man vs Robots mode, but SuxxX0r3 against Real
People.

^ spectrum really was brilliant, ant attack, knightlore,
atic atac, skool daze etc..

i had quake 2 but it didnt have the same impact as quake did
for me, i'll have to go back to it at some point, i remember
upgrading graphics card just to run it voodoo 3dfx or
something like that god knows what it was
