idm is becominc more and more popular..but is that a good
thing? i for one prefer listening to music that the majority
doesnt listen to, if aphex topped the charts somehow it
would take away all the fun, even if he does deserve to be
there. also, it would create a large amount of wannabe crap
'idm' artists to spring from the woodwork, probably.
So should idm be allowed to become popular, or is it good
that decent music would reach little kids ears and convert
them from their pop crap?

Well thats just it {hey I like your new pic!} but yeah I
mean its all a matter of opinion right!? I mean If the few
main "IDM" {hate that term} artists were to become chart
toppers around the world and all.... I wouldnt care too
much, id take it with a grain of salt and move on, let the
fad pass as it always does, and keep going. I dont even
enjoy all this crazy "IDM" i mean I like a lot of bands you
hear people talk about here but not all.......

It would take the fun out of it, ofcourse it would....
but.... well.. just dont worry, it is becoming popular.. but
not that popular. Id like to think its popular in the
"underground scene".. get me?

;)

IDM is for us and us only. The servile masses can not
understand or appreciate the music of our refined tastes.
You need not worry my aquatic friend; IDM is safe with us.

aren't that intelligent, only 12% are or somet, or have the

look at it this way, it's the classical music of our time.
people are goin gto have heard of autechre, but never have
listened to thier music...like debussy and mozart, people
may have heard some of their tunes , but might not know it,
i hear autechre on the adverts quite a lot now-a-days, but
people don;t realise they are being subliminally exposed to
it!! hahahah, i will take ove the world now!!

I would love to sit naked in front of this computer, but
women in my office would probably be shocked to death... My
body is apalling...

About the topic: It is really of no importance to me who
likes or dislikes what, I have no problem with RDJ regularly
being nominated for MTV prizes, with Mouse on Mars being
pretty big on VIVA Zwei or with other people being really
small and obscure... It doesn't have anything to do with me.
I listen to the music because of the aesthetic pleasure, not
for socialisation (although I love to look down on others
for not being up to my refined tastes, of course)... Stating
that this is "intelligent" music and that this implies
something about us is a good joke...

DON'T SAY YOU BODY IS APPALING!! that's an awful way to feel
about yourself..it can't be that bad...

appalling

Yeah, ok, two p's and two l's, well, it may not be
appalling, but im too skinny and too white and haven't got
much of a hair (*sob*). My girlfriend says she likes me that
way, but I saw my self in a large mirror a month ago and was
shocked...

yo, Korben, checked out Andreas whasaname: LJUD, well, I may
have just been in a bad mood, but it struck me as just yet
another clickhouse goon: clicking beatz and airbrushed
synths on top... I might have to listen a bit harder tho, or
to get in a better mood...

offline korben dallas from nz on 2002-04-18 12:21 [#00181693]

mmmhhh... you might have a point there. i actually listened
to it a couple of times and didn't really do much - but the
other day - it worked? mh? haven't heard that much
click/house/techno, so to me sounded quite fresh i guess .

^*looks at pic* - "where's the bowl?"

regular video mixing for their live shows, they played here
some months ago and a lot of local people liked it ( I
didn't attend, cause Ima lazy basterd)

BTW, if you like LJUD, you should check out Jan jelinek,
he's the master of clickhouse (his other moniker is Farben),
his "Loop-finding jazz records" album is a classic, although
I don't listen to it too often as it gets very depressing if
you're in a wrong mood... But rechenzentrum are really
trying to come up with something fresh with every track...

you are referring to justin's music? Well, I've been in love

Meho was actually born in 1955. He lies on his personal
details section. He actually logs on to this MB from the old
people's home he lives in. When he "goes to a meeting" for a
bit he's actually being changed by the nurse because he's
pissed himself.
