while listening to my cousin rehearsing [on violin] various classical parts in the other room....... painters - humans who create "worlds" on their canvases are artists [maybe it's a thing in English language and not in other language, note] - and musicians: those who re-create classic compositions as e.g. violin players in an orchestra AND musicians who create their own music using e.g. violin <<--- they are all called artists in English, 'am I wrong??' - ?? |

classic/classical cause it always bugged me....at least in my culture: those starving painters trying to sell their unique works AND [sorry] copy-cat musicians playing in orchestras - they both are called/treated as artists while - methinks - only the former could be could real artists while the latter - just craftsmen [!] skillfully recreating classical stuff. what say you ? |

I understand what you mean, but would that suggest that any musician, wether in a band or a solo 'artist' isn't an artist? I'm not having a go. I'm curious because it's interesting. |
