My Red hot Car

A few of you may remeber I passed my driving test a few
weeks ago. I now have my very own car. It's a navy blue
peugeout 106. I am having great difficulty parking it
though. Where I live there is a great shortage of space,
it's very fun trying to park a car with a shoddy turning
circle in a tiny gap on a bend on a 45 degree incline.
Bloody vallys.

I have discovered I simply cannot navigate whilst driving at
all- I literally used 1/4 of a tank of fuel getting from the
UCI to Ponty due to all the wrong turnings (about 15 miles
if I'd not got lost).

....and also a great of difficulty when it comes to dealing
with pedestrians when they cross in front of you!

How many have you chalked up on the scoreboard now Ceri?

;) Teasing you!

When you say 'Red Hot Car' ..... you make it sound like
it's stolen...

(I know it isn't, and that its not even red.....I'm just
picking holes in your grammar - I'm proof reading some word
documents at the moment!)

"My Red Hot Car" is a track by squarepusher.

My car is blue and on a scale of freezing to red hot in
terms of coolness weighs in around frigidly cold.

I almost went the wrong way down a 50 mph road near the
Trefforest industrial estate last night - I was only stopped
by quick reversing (onto a roundabout!) when an oncoming car
was flashing their lights. Oh and I nearly hit an old woman
on Saturday afternoon.

Sorry to go off topic here but thanx for that disc Ceri....

I can understand that.
In mine and Jedi Chris' town you get lots of "bad boy"
teenagers aged about 16 who have mopeds. They're crap, the 2
stroke engines make such a shitty high pitched whiney noise-
much like the voices of the riders ;)

I've got a 1980 Mercedes Benz 230E... exactly like the one
they have in that Del Monte advert...makes me feel like
Kraftwerk when we're out and about in it FUn FUn on the
AUTOBAHN...

Got it for free as well; went around the parents and they
said "would you like this car, we're not using it anymore"
and Im like "fuck me!!!...yes yes yes"....

One downside...I can't drive...but my girlf is well happy
with it & I don't mind being a prefessional passenger.....

I do worry about you Ceri..... ;)
You didn't tell everyone that you almost fell asleep at the
wheel listening to music either did you!! :)

The more and more you drive Ceri, the better at it you'll
become! Being hypocritical, that being said, I've
occassionally driven up sections of 'High St' the wrong way
- and you just gotta think to yourself "I'm in this
situation now ....and just out of it in the safest possible
way, and quickly!!

Seriouslly people, don't get the wrong idea about Ceri's
driving, I've experienced his driving, and he's an excellent
driver!

Silly mare really suddenly almost sidestepped onto a
crossing (it didn't look like she was intending to cross
till the second before she stepped out). I threw the brakes
on, but only got the speed down to about 15mph. By which
time I was half way across the crossing so I just carried
on.

The same day I was stuck behind a lexus that
a) Didn't have working brakelights.
b) "Stopped on a dime"

As the brakes on my car are crap I nearly went into the back
of it about 4 times. I was paranoid that if rear ended him I
couldn't prove the break lights hadn't been working before.

Also on the same day a bus began indicating once I was
already along side it and then proceeded to pull out
"through" where my car was, forcing me into the lane of
oncoming traffic.

have a licence, only now do you learn to drive!

About a year ago there were 2 garages in on Broad Street
alone that specialised in scooters.

Jonesy, let me know when you come back to Barry, we'll have
to meet up and go to The Dolphin or something.

Where's the Dolphin guys?

The Savoy is where all the former Bostons crowd go now isn't
it?

I occassionally used to go to Bostons because my mates
wouldn't go into town. Its the worst. That shit DJ playing
the same bastard songs every week. You could tell what time
it was by the song being played.

There was this guy there who was about 50 and looked like
Geoff from Byker Grove who was always there. And Basset Boys
going round saying "got any Rizla bra?"

I'd be up for a Barry real life meeting/drinky-poos if
anyone is up for it.

The Dolphin is part of Ken Roger's legacy, it's a nightclub
in part of the Barry ISland funfair complex.

The powerstation closed down (old Barry hotel) so all the
badboys from there go to Bostons so that's crap now.

I've never been to the Savoy, I go to the Rom which has been
under new management for about 3 years (it's owned by the
guy who used to own bostons when it was the friars) and it's
no longer a drug den.

shootup Sheep shit?..

(excuse my welsh stereotypes...I'm from Essex and so have a
big chip on my shoulder...good job I'm not old or some
fucker would probably mug me for it..)...

I think it is.

Jand: Barry has quite a bad drug problem in some areas. I
used to work on the council, we used to find needles in the
grass and burnt tin foil in bins in public parks!

It was really funny, because ours was a church school

always kids from our school getting in trouble.

Even the kids who were hated in school....were even
protected to a certain degree by saying they went to Barry

around the authority slaying all the other kids. And when
the two schools of Barry Boys and Bryn HAfren joined
