Going to have to check out that release by him. Coming from this forum you'd think it'd be some nod to AFX or AE, but to see Electro and a nod to Stasis in the review on discogs has peaked my interest. Good for him to do something different. I guess being from Dallas where Convextion is located helps to nurture such a scene. |

gerard H (convextion) is one of the greatest people on earth to be around. you are invigorated by just being around him and talking about sci fi and the 70's,80's and electro and techno, movies and books and science. he is longtime friends with a great dj in my town called ricky simpson, and they went to high school with a guy named bryan bishop who owns a house that is something like out of a stanley kubrick movie set. ricky is one of the funniest mother fuckers ive ever known. the dallas scene is good if only for the motivating energies of the people around you. come and visit sometime and we'll throw a party ! |

Nice to hear that about Mr. Hanson. I've read and listened to a couple of interviews of him and he seems like a very modest and humble individual. Not too mention that I do love his music under his E.R.P alias. Speaking of which, he needs to get an E.R.P LP out as there are so many gems from his various live shows I've heard the past 5 or 6 years, just like that track above. :] I'm not too far from you (San Antonio currently) and I'm pretty sure the scene here is nothing but Dubstep (using college kids as a litmus). Since being in SA I've only seen 1 concert, which was Plaid in Austin back in 2011. I'd love to see Convextion and you all live, but I'm not sure what kind of heads up any of the venues would give to schedule that drive or where to go to keep in the loop for such appearances. |
