a very smart song...i really didn't expect anything less from Koan... @ roughly 2:30 into it the riff's so retro, even with that old fijiolp! caught a heads up from the skrillex twitter about the vid. |

all of his sound design is rendered well...except for a little bit of funk, the sounds are deep, intuitive, and innovate. At times however, it seems that Koan Sound's naming thema, "Funk Blaster" and "80's fitness" are disableing himself on what should be great tracks. Reminds me of the Luke Vibert: we hear you in regards to innovation. Koan's "Meanwhile in the Future" is so perfect...the pauses, the reverse sampling...oh so intuitive! |

koan sound are some of the best producers (it's a duo) out there right now imo. although their stuff has been getting a bit samey, i hope they branch off and start varying their style more - they were experimenting a lot with dubstep a few years ago (max out ep is still my favorite of theirs), but have settled into a more consistant glitch-hop groove recently. |

it's good, but has more-of-the-same-itis. they have a special touch, i went to a show they were headlining a few months ago and all the other djs were playing very similar glitch-hop and dubstep (i'd never heard so much skrillex out before), but none of it was remotely tolerable until koan came on. |
