tapemix 1
tapemix 2

Give these a go guys, i think you'll like some of this.
these musics are recorded live to a reallly crusty old
tascam 4 track and edited/mixed. dark ambient atmospheric
tape stuff, lots of beats. maybe try number 2 first, 1 is a
bit heavy but i think 1 is the best.

Holy shit there's so much in them. They're both really
good. I'm liking 2 more at this point due to the track that
starts @ 8:45. The feeling it evokes is fucking huge

wondering why shit like skrillex gets so popular while
interesting and original stuff like yours is (probably)
still unsigned

Hey bros. This is a 45 minute tape mix I made recently. It
was picked up by these guys for their artzine/blog and i'd
really like yall to hear it.

DAVID FIRSTLY

It's quite a diverse mixture of sounds and I really think
you'll enjoy this

listening now.

about 1min in, is that the music from the original ps2 when
you have no disk in? like wet drippy ambient.

checked flight real too.

all nice stuff.

tape hiss bliss.

just read the title. track 2. dream shell booting up.

dreamcast with no disc in? sounded very familiar anyways.

my dreamcast suffered from heat exhaustion. has been a while
since i turned my little white brick of fun on : (

yeah it's the dreamcast bootscreen with samples from ghost
in the shell title theme layered over it.

Dope mixes. One of my fav things this year. Actually found
them in VLRs favs, had no idea it was an xlt user...

Loved hearing the stock sample 'woosh' towards the end of
tapemix 3... Did you take it from DOOM or a movie? I know
it's used like 3 times in the original Highlander...

really nice g (tapemix 1)
favs were parts around 1:00/14:00/5:00
wut softwares did you use

I like how you switch back and forth between 2 different
parts like in the 1:00 and 14:00. The parts are unique but
slide into each other smoothly. And the volume fade downs
are cool and general sound quality. At first 14 seemed
busy/noisy but the part it slid into was really nice and
then the first busy part seemed to fit nicely attached to
it.

Dude... Is it a Tascam 424 that you're using?

Points: 10789 Status: Regular | Followup to Haft: #02433935

It's a tascam portastudio 414. It's had juice spilled on it
or something (it was given to me) which is maybe what makes
everything sound really saturated. It's becoming impractical
to use now tho as something in the circuits keeps crackling
like a bug being electrocuted.

i'm still using reason to make the tracks and i mix them in
cubase. the transitions are made using loads of layers.
stuffs like the tape noise help to blur and mix varied
sounds.
I really like doing phrase 1 - phrase 2 swaps, leaving you
stuck in the first phrase traps you then you are set free
from it and the new phrase feels like you have suddenly
surfaced and can move like 14:00

yea its from doom 2 boss. loved that sound so much when i
was little i used to sort of mutter it to myself quietly
when thinking. ive heard it used in films mainly for fire
balls or stuff like that.

(just click the big "Download: DFtesttrax05.mp3" bit at the
top)

ok hi fellas hope youre all good! these are some tracks i
really want you to comment on. i've made a lot, well over
300 and these are just a few. it'll only take 15 mins out of
your life and ive lovingly mixed them for you to enjoy.
Please comment. I want to know what you hate and what you
like, please do not be shy
this isnt footwork (some of it sort of is) which is why all
the footwork humans probably wont like this stuff, but its
got those rhythm patterns. my aim is to take the
clubvibefuckyeahfeel out of electronic music and have some
good fucking beats to move into the threatening future with.
please comment on what you hear!

2:29 awesome.

everything leading up to that is pleasant, fairly
interesting.

4:50 is also awesome. like the bass is is womblike and
consistently present.

6:30 is awesome.

~ 8:00 rhythm is awesome.

drifted into nightmare = scary. there are many great
transitions in this one..

11:26 cool. 12:00 the overlayed track is good mix.

13:15 = cool.

nice stuff thanks for sharing. your stuff has a nice
warm production that always makes it pleasant to listen to.
i like how it meanders.

nope, hang on, i figured it out

it reminds me of footwork a lot but call it what you like,
it's good. low swung nagging loops and dreamy atmosphere,
that track with the careful sample kills me

well im super glad u like these guys.
- illfates
glad you like the timbre here. its pretty lo tech and will
be polished up a little but im planning on keeping it all
sounding pretty noisey and harsh. i want these to be dj
friendly tho so they need to be sharpened.
- belb
yeah that careful one is my fav too very glad you like.
-behindthebeats
i plan on putting more tracks like that one in this release
but i might end up saving those kind of tunes for a
different project. youre one of the first of which ive shown
this to that enjoys that one thx v much.

keep your ears n eyes peeled for when i finally sort this
release which should be soonish. thx again guys
