Xltronic way behind? I'm still in denial. So, no.

Also, nice to see we've finally got others to post their
work as if it's by Richard. Why didn't someone else think of
that? Brilliant marketing.

Behind what, btw?

it's close to Richard's work but there is something wrong,
too resembling to his other ambient stuff in a non-original

Hi. I’m Kroniktronikboy. I live in a city full of hills
with a river running through it. There’s a beautiful
bridge and parks and old buildings and music and clubs and
drugs and black people and white people and sex and violence
and death and life. And shoe shops, for some reason. Loads
of them. I’m 16th, going on 17th century. My favourite
philosopher is David Hume. My favourite medieval king is
Charlemagne. Last night i dreamt that i was King Herod The
Great. My favourite Depeche Mode album is Speak And Spell. I
hate smoothie companies that try to be my friend. I’ll
make my own, thank you very much. Last night my friend
Torchy The Battery Boy told me he loved me…but he was on
pills…so I didn’t take him seriously. The other day I
got my friend Towser to drink some bong water. I said that
if he did it first then I would too. I didn’t. My
favourite food is potatoes. Boil them, slice them, grill
them with chilli and garlic. Heaven, sweet, heaven....

some nice bits in there but it doesn't sound like an aphex
production whatsoever in terms of the mixing, drums etc..,
more 'default daw software' sounding.

this definetly sounds like aphex. I think these
are the tons of un-selected tracks he kept referring to. I
might be wrong aswell but really, these are hand-crafted,
guise

offline khrimson from the fridge on 2012-02-02 15:13 [#02428465]
Points: 1757 Status: Regular

Looks like he used the same synths_/effects setups to
produce different tracks and probably had them running
untouched for days, understandable, with hardware. This is
interesting stuff, really.

You said 'Looks like' when you tried to say sounds like.
You speculated Richard D James is not very thorough and left
his equipment untouched for days. You also said it is
interesting which is a lie.

Well, if you're going to be specific about it, he wasn't
lying if he meant it. Whether it actually should be
interesting is an entirely different question.

After 2 weeks still less than 1000 listens. Double this
amount and this might be the amount of records he'll sell.
Kinda depressing if these numbers would indeed imply
something.

Points: 12102 Status: Regular | Followup to taking_the_piz: #02428469

He was lying. He didn't mean it.

Selling a record on hype alone is over.

That's a good thing, not depressing.

offline khrimson from the fridge on 2012-02-02 16:03 [#02428471]
Points: 1757 Status: Regular

First, you got what I meant so please don't be so picky
about my english, it's not my native language.

Then again, he stated in interviews that he went back to his
synths after having them running in background for many
hours and finding them sounding different because of
electrical components warming up so, yes, it is a compatible
behaviour to what he said. Then again it *could* be my
fantasy but the tracks in my link do sound very detailed and
could be experiments he cared to record. If you tried to
listen to them you *could* possibly find interesting aswell,
in a philological way, at least.

offline khrimson from the fridge on 2012-02-02 16:05 [#02428472]
Points: 1757 Status: Regular

and it's kinda hard/boring save hardware presets, especially
combined with effects
