have just created a facebook account. within like six
hours, i can see loads of 'friends' that i may wish to get
in touch with, some of whom i have absolutely no interest in
getting in touch with. my question is how with such basic
information (where i live, which uni i went to, date of
birth) does faceache throw-up nearly everyone i have ever
known? im a bit freaked out by it.

if you add friend A you maybe know all their friends. if you
add one more, a lot of the frieds of friend A can be dropped
as possible friends, but still not totally. the more friends
you add, the better the estimate facebook can make who you
know. it's some sort of math/chance thing
