He has a new album out. It's pretty good, but like a lot of his releases, it's basically a bunch of unfinished tunes + ideas, which he has thrown together, in no particular order and without much focus. I do wish he'd spend a bit more time on the tracks and develop them more. Anyway, it's worth a listen. |

Found a that says how I feel about it. I'm a pretty big fan, not nuts about him. You can tell he knows exactly what he's doing, but he was far too careful to really make anything amazing; I hope he'll actually experiment more in the future. The intro to "Things Fall Apart" makes me love it best :) |

This, "Like I say, they're good tracks, but they just don't go anywhere for the most part and are over the moment you actually start getting into them." sums it up perfectly. Some good ideas, but not enough work on them or progression within the tracks to warrant stringing them out longer, so he cuts them short and you can never get into it before it is over. The rattlesnake sound that serves the purpose of a hh on "Witch Hunt" sounds sublime on a loud system, mind. It's brilliant the way it cuts through everything else that is going on. We were listening to it in the car and my girlfriend thought it was something in the car outside the music, it sounded so far removed from it. |

one of my favourite albums of the year. its quality. loved where were you in '92 as well. everyone goes on about burial and loefah and dmz being at the forefront of abstract dubstep production, lets not forget the zomby too. am also enjoying the new martyn album, its a winner, great production. |

Where Were U in 92 was gold dust. One Foot In Front of the Other is a good in too - and Test Me For A Reason. He's far more interesting than most dubsteppers. |
