take the a82 to Glencoe and then if you have time, Fort
william, i think it's the most beautiful part of scotland.
but obviously that would use up a whole day

I noticed that they get more daylight in the summer evenings
too, I think some of the Islands are almost 24 hours light
in the height of summer

I'm up here right now visiting the old man. Up north here
'where the proper stuff is'. It's pretty good everywhere
really. Glasgow can be pretty ugly but it has great history.
You needn't go far from there to see spectacular natural
history. Loch Lomond is only a short while away and is
enough to make you feel like a new man.

I'm IN Fort Augustus. The ride up here in the car was
nothing short of amazing. It is without a doubt my favourite
piece of scenery in the world and I've seen a fair bit.

Unfortunately right now it's raining and the wind is
blowing, making outdoor activities particularly unpleasant
(this did not seem to deter the people I saw trekking cross
country on the way over here). Summertime should be good
though, the weather was pretty fucking fantastic last time I
was here (mostly sunny with the odd bout of rain) except
that it wreaked hell on my sinuses.
