Our goal for 2011 - Let's Make A Record

In case you missed the good news we wanted to remind you.
Over the past few months, we've been busy jamming, writing
and hanging out together - exploring the creative aspect of
being Soundgarden. It feels great. We have some cool new
songs that we are going to record very soon. Thank you for
all of the support!

Loudest of Love,

Ben, Chris , Kim and Matt

I hope they can still rock, wish them all the best

ive loved soundgarden since the late 80's
and ive heard/seen a few of thier videos of thier
current/recent tours...
and...
(not to be a hator, thats not my style)
but...Chris's voice sounds like shit, Ben didnt want a
reunion for a long time (must need the $$), Kim didnt age
well, and Matt, he is awesome.

I dont even think ill buy the live cd that came out today.
my 2 cents.

louder than love is awesomeness

I picked up their last complilation thingy last year with
the dvd for all of their music videos they have ever
done...it was a pretty decent package

but I am not the biggest fan of their stuff post
badmotorfinger...the earlier the better for me...
i can tolerate the later albums but I dont go out of my way
to listen to that stuff...this new compliation has two
discs...second disc of the compilation is the stuff after
badmotorfinger..i am yet to play it...

I dislike soundgarden, based on the one album I bought (with
blackhole sun) when I was young and susceptible to whatever
shitty music meme virus was going around. I listened to the
album like a friggin decade later and it was just meh mixed
with bleh, didn't even have a nostalgic factor, though I did
hate my life and all of humanity back then so there wasn't
anything good be be nostalgic about.

yup that's the album I dislike too..
not sure if you will get into the earlier stuff
either...superunknown etc are very clean and polished
gleaming metallic boring stuff...the earlier stuff is..well
grunge...badmotor finger has the nice balance between the
two states...

what I liked about soundgarden was the big hard grooves
using harmonics, atonal dissonace and feedback as parts of
riffs
and that disappeared from the later stuff...

Entering from Screaming Life

Uncovered from Louder than Love

Slaves and Bulldozers from badmotorfingers
