music is a frmework

YOU'RE NOT INVENTING NOTHING!

you just look, take pics. there's a reason if you happen to
catch the same shoots of another before you, and that reason
is because you're using the same plug-in

i suspect that music fails to be considered a tool by a
large amount of population in this internet motherfucka. the
way it's organized, make it appear like it's the final goal.
the music itself, its nothing but an accessory for output
something, like out of your mouth

now there is this acid scene where everybody puts ideas
using the same devices. this is genius, cos ppl display
nothing but the the moves themself. it's a bit communist,
but also a common field where confrontation becomes
palpable. helps at cutting the hype off though, so making
real music, considered where one has to fish to help diffuse
something worth is generally less funny than many like to
describe,

what does soapboxing mean. anyway, what would you say if
someone say that what you say does not correspond to
reality? me:

1. im crazy. or you are
2. i does not correspond to you
3. goodbye

okay i really didnt want to get into this but...

you have like the mechanics and components sort of worked
out but what you assembling out of these is astoundingly
naive...
yes music is a famework or language but there are many
different its alphabet, syntax, punctuation, grammer etc
are applied all over the world...

can you tell me that you find no distinction in this
interpretation of a big budget hollywood film score

The Last of the Mohicans in Afghanistan

saying all music is shit because we are all using the same
structure...is plain dumb

it's like saying that there has been no original thought
ever since invention of language..

your own art and your own music...well...maybe.. ;P

i don't think music is a framework, that would mean there is
a common language, and I don't think there is one. What
someone might understand as a framework is within the
greater field of sound.

well.. we both have a brain, and ears and fingers. you also
can't deny that a dude having a computer is closer to a

about this.

is closer to a multi-instumentalist as you tune your ears to
various elements, often percussive ones. and you play them
somehow. that's how monkeys do!

Music is just human brain entertainment with possible
remnants of sexual selection like song birds which got boot
strapped into language and now we're all obsessed with it
because we're a bunch of genetic automatons. Cats are more
sane because they hate music. Crayfish are probably
indifferent to it. Crayfish are cool, they have lots of
pinchers. So in conclusion, I like tacos.

music for me is not the sound waves hitting your ears, nor
is it something residing in your brain. every theory
concerning the origin of music, i.e., genetics, biology,
etc, is missing the point.

it's a sentient experience, like breathing, or eating, in
itself it's just a concept. it's an act of perception
inherent in the perceiving of it.

honestly I am very surprised that we managed or tried to
make sense of a rant that makes no sense I just read it
again and its basically word salad with pickled
hyperboles...

industry? what industry? music industry collapsed when ipod
became the birthday present of choice at the retirement
homes...
there is no music industry anymore all the gatekeepers
bought the farm, most of the artists are selling their own
stuff for the price you want to pay, cutting out the
middleman that was the "music industry"

itunes top 10 is the only charts that matter and anybody and
I mean anybody can sell their stuff through itunes or amazon

the free-for-all that was always promised the great
equalizer has arrived..now it's all about the hype and the
blogs and the hopes that more people will choose to pay a
buck or loose change to buy a song rather than getting it
for free

How exactly is music a language? Sound is abstract, we
impose something onto it and then it might start to mean
something to us as individuals and as a collective. For
example major and minor chords, we understand these to mean
something. But even major and minor chords are too far gone,
we've assumed too much by that point, in terms of how notes
are spaced to make up the octave - equal temperament. As
listeners of equal temperament music we can't tell shit
about another intonation system, we're lost because we don't
understand it's language. So music isn't a language, sound
isn't a language, we placed a framework inside the field of
sound and that is what we understand. Music that is outside
of that very narrow language isn't understood in itself.

If language conveys information or meaning then music is a
language. Think of cues in soundtracks - music can be tense,
relaxed, romantic, grand and awe inspiring, militaristic,
comical, etc. etc.

You could say that it's all learned responses to arbitrary
musical convention but the same is true of spoken language
too. There's no law of the universe that says minor chords
have to be sad or the phoneme "cat" has to refer to the best
animal.

The best music is tittyfuck music.

That's true but there's a difference between spoken language
and music. Spoken language is completely functional (with
very few exceptions) and music (at least in the western
world) is rarely functional.

This liberates Music. It doesn't necessarily have to
operate within the bounds of equal temperament - the system
(the language) which the music we understand as conveying
information exists within.

If we liberated spoken word from meaning, I think people's
heads would explode, the people who practice it would get so
much shit for that, at the moment that kind of thing can
only exist on the margins of society, we live in a practical
world - everything which isn't productive is stupid.

you might want to notice how our opinions are the result of
another opinion which we adapted to our understanding of the
it at the time we hear it, in a waaaaay more aboriginal
level than an encyclopedia can explain. not only the words,
but we record, shape and reproduce even the moods, the
pauses, the declinations and whatsoever, of the person we
saw, and/or hear into a certain situation. it's clearly
visible into a person with brain damage. 800% slower.

music should be taught as poetry in schools, not as
technology or math. kids should be eduacted at rhyming
sounds because thats what communication is all about. words
are still the most secure way to hand down knowledge. as

think of that has a clear function in the western world is
muzak. I'm interested but skeptical about the idea of people
speaking without any meaning at all attached to the words
they use, I'm sure there are people who ride the line. There
is of course things like THIS
