yup simple as that...but I propose a new rating system..
THE JIVVERDICKERMETER s'simple y'all

5 on the JIVVERDICKERMETER means it will only appeal to the
JivverDickers of the world....approach with a Biohazard suit
and don't leave without a decontaminant shower
0 on the JIVVERDICKERMETER means...it's mint...it's
primo...any JIVVERDICKERS in the audience will implode into
an easily removable heap ready for a dog poo baggie

so I will begin

Unknown
2.5 on JIVVERDICKERMETER
cross Frantic with Bourne Identity and release it a year
after SALT and you get Unknown...

If you've got some apples to exchange with mister Jivver,
mail him directly. Don't start an anti-Jivver campaign with
this kind of half arsed threads. I'm not interested, and I'm
sure most people here aren't either.
Without the Jivvermeter-crap this thread might have gone
somewhere. If he bothers you, ignore him. Continue this crap
and be ignored yourself. It's up to you.

I hear some valid points.. but I just got run with it until
it runs out of steam...not for anyone else but for my
self....

so if you wanna use this thread feel free to use it without
gauge I suggested...heck I kinda like the sound of zoomancer
scale of lameness...:)

The Ninth Gate

Lots of fun, far better than I expected.

I really dug Polanski's mastery of the atmosphere on that
one...as well as the central character and the premise...the
plot developments?not so much...not from what I recall
anyway...saw it when it first came out

They say you have to watch it more than once. I read some
spoilers after the first time I viewed it and there's
definitely stuff I missed out on, about the Johnny Depp
character and the mysterious girl. After I read it I was
like "oh yeah, of course" but I wish I'd just watched it
again instead of reading spoilers.

THE BOX by Richard Kelly (Director of Donnie Darko)

How could a movie with so much go so horribly wrong...it's
got Aliens, Astral Travel, Deformities, Conspiracy Theories,
Men in Black, Mind Control, Zombies (of sorts including
Cameron Diaz)...

Maybe there's too much going on...
Not as much as Southland Tales...which was an absolute
disaster...

but there seems to be a lack of skill in piecing a narrative
together...incoherence and enigmas are two different
things...Richard Kelly's obvious David Lynch fetish is on
display once again, but insistence on stilted dialogue
delivery (of some of the most awfully sophomoric lines) does
not a David Lynch make...

Each film of his I watch convinces me just a little more
that Donnie Darko was a fluke (as did all the pedantic
deleted scenes on the DVD of that film....their omission
made for a perfect little enigmatic film)

3 on JIVVE.....ah Fuck JivverDicker I am bored with the
little bitch

The Adjustment Bureau

strange little big film...based purporterdly on a Phillip K
Dick Story
not the next Inception I was expecting...more like meta
narrative version of a romantic comedy, like pretty woman
with a greek chrous of men in black announcing the upcoming
plot twists and hurdles and obstacles thrown in the path of
true love...a bit like Life Less Ordinary in a strange way
