btw larn, do you still need that map I made for the indiana
jones red line animation? There are plenty of tutorials to
do it on aftereffects, flash, etc. If you want I can pass
you the jpg along so you can make it yourself.

thanks, will check out your tracks soon....I've not made the
wedding video because i've been too busy with other
projects, but i have some time off work next week so i want
to do it.

send me the map and if you can point me in the direction to
the tutorials i'd appreciate it. i have aftereffects which i
think i will find easier than flash

mmm soundcloud might be more useful, both of those links
kept buffering then tried to install random stuff on my
computer- if you've got a way for me to listen without that
inconvenience by all means link.

alright i'm listening to the top 4 and giving you
mindblowing critique on each one (at $500 usd per track you
agree to these terms by reading this far)

green heritage: i like the pads a lot, and the sorta major
to minor tension thing ur doing with them- the squeak/reso
base is kinda flat imo, maybe some pan/bal to it?- and
speaking of tension i never really get the feeling of
release in the song
also u know 4/4 4/floor kick drum, neat don't get me wrong
and we all use it from time to time but... meh
over all i give this song about 6 thumbs up (don't ask where
i got all these thumbs)

space bishop: much better with the reso on this, and i dig
the oldschool beats- the sample cuts into the song seem a
bit ... generically placed, 'one' and 'two' being about all
i hear you cutting from it. the lead synth is very neat
i'd give this one an A + any day of the week, regardless of
the sampling issue (which was awesome at the beginning, just
think u could have taken something more from it)

alpha acid: resonance on this one is just a bit too heavy,
idk maybe that's what you intended but i think it could
stand a slightly lower level in relationship to the rest of
it, maybe splitting up the high and low effects of that
particular channel and compressing just the high parts? meh-
overall i like the zaniness of this one, and of course it's
reference to ILLEGAL DRUG USE which is cool 'cause it's
against ESTABLISHED PRINCIPLES- i suppose i'd give this one
an 8 on the kinsey scale

res dia: ooh strings, they sound like preset samples but
i'm probably a terrible judge, and again- let me make a
guess, you really like reso bass huh? well the strings
mingle really nicely with it and the 4/floor beat, a bit
linear for me but otherwise pretty nice, again though i
think you elevated the level on your 'main' a bit too much-
i'd lower those strings just a tad so everything else can
shine too- i suppose i'd give this one 6/7 points

cheers.

oh and i'm following you on my soundcloud now, if you're
*cool

* you'll return the favor and follow my soundcloud account
which is ... sadly undernourished having created it a couple
weeks ago

your reviews sound fair, I find the mixing tips useful and
straight to the point, that's an area I have still much to
learn. Consider it's soundcloud so when it's over and it's
not really shit it goes there, I've got shittier things I
don't share and ideally I would save or collect the better
ones for some sort of album/ep. The ep I linked in the first
post was a collection of hi-res-bass heavy tracks (alpha
acid, unbo, sad acid, 3rd view), there's stuff of different
kind on that page but yes, I like squelchy bass sounds.

I followed you back, I'm listening at the moment.

Fixing to learn has some interesting chord modulations and
hiQ lowpass filtering. The general mood of the song is not
clear to me, the main melody was a bit wandering. It does
have "learn" in the title so I guess it's some sort of
experiment.

Grab my arm sounds good, I like the first pad. I was
expecting some new melody on another instrument at 1:20 but
nothing new comes until 2:00 when you duplicate chord line
on an higher octave (at the same velocity and thus sounding
too high in volume), that pad pitched up doesn't sound good
imho. On this track there are interesting production
techniques and clever sequencing on the drums part.

Injure self pride, sounds jazzy, again nice drums.

Tolerance and doubt, this doesn't sound too clever (the idm
tag doesn't help either), the clipped/distorted bass is out
of place and the lack of a recognizable melody played on it
makes it more questionable.

Acid control, it doesn't have hiresbass in it :P but it has
nice sampling at starting 2:40, nice drumming again (samples
are a bit muddy)

All the same, I like the clashing of intune/detuned
melodies.

Ship full of water, I like the bitcrush effect at the start
and the ongoing drum part is good. Weird scale modulations
at 2:30.

That lady, sounds boring, sorry I skipped

Though, has cover art, I'm expecting something special. A
nice bass pad enters at 1:00. followed by a cool processed
bass at 1:45, that's something di

that's something different and nice sounding. I don't like
drum part on this track, the openhats especially sound out
of place. There's a weird scale modulation at the end. So
far this is the track I like best toghter with grab my arm.

Ok that's it, my thread is officially derailed :)

well derailed, thanks for commenting on my tunes btw
incidentally there are only four tracks on that site from
within the last year, still kinda relearning chords and such
hence grab my arm having sorta lame sounding scales

cheers mate :D
