Mubarak will leave hopefully but the way things are going, at best egypt is only going to get a clumsy western style 'democracy'. It's not much cause for celebration, read the history. |

Im afraid you're right. There are too many in- and outside groups with huge interests in the outcome of this revolution. Or rather, that the outcome doesn't differ much from the situation under Mubarak. It's going to be a similar painting with slightly different colors and some half arsed version of democracy. There's simply too much at stake for the different interests to allow for absolute freedom. But I'm hopeful -ish. |

I must say I have to agree with the sentiment. He was in charge on a large and very secretive Intelligence Service for a long time. The new PM used to be the Air Force Commander I think - Mubarak's old job. The Defense Minister has also been kept in this new government. |

No the regime is intact but the protests have been very strong so we hope it will be pressured more and more. |

But it qualifies for 'revolution' because the president has been removed after trying to hold in, with the army, until it could no longer be sustained. People kept protesting until they got what they wanted. |
