Ok many many drummachines and synths and effects and two
different people, and still they managed to make it sound
like rejected Hospitality tracks?

It's rather ok actually, though i'm afraid i heard enough
from the samples already.. might have to buy it eventually

i read the board 'oldest messages first' so i should ignore
all the links above, i think

it sounds like speed dealer ae's, not bad. i wonder what's
Frusciante's part in this

This is really interesting. Not sure how much I like it but
it definitely merits closer inspection and attention.

nah that one had Cyrus x (i think his name was?) and several
other people.. or am i thinking of something else?

Am i the only one who thinks the samples are anything but
what the description says it to be?

I think the sound is a bit lazy, they could've made so much
better or just different, something akin to Squarepusher.

I agree with something different, but akin to Squarepusher?
:P

To be hounest mate, even if it were recorded live, they
could've done something different.

dunno if you heard the last album of squarepusher but ALL
the songs sound pretty much the same

I know that's directed to Sano, but that's mostly the case
on an album :P And it's his personal style so i guess that's
why they're all the same, in some ways.

In this case, i expected music exactly to be Aaron, Chris
and John jamming with analogue synths, what i just heard is
Venetian Snares. But that's what i think of it, and i like
how it sounds.

you hear a lot of mr snares indeed, I think he sets the
basic line of the songs. But you dunno what's gonna happen
in the last part of the songs..this is only 2 minutes of...?
Besides that its a yam session recorded live..you dunno who
did what but most of the background sounds seem to be from
john and Chris..

All tracks on Shobaleader One have the 909 and similar
instruments/patches, didn't bother me much, I liked reading
how he made the tracks too, the man knows his business
that's for sure.

When I mentioned Squarepusher I was thinking more about
track arrangement and thinking out of the box, not so much
to do the same bass guitar/samples/synth mix he does but I
do understand this is just a jam, still I hoped it didn't
sound so much like regular Snares output.

You just said it yourself really. If they are truly jam
sessions, i can make a pretty good guess of what the rest
would sound like. The fact that i don't know who did what is
not a factor for me to like it more or less. If it were all
software made by a Jeremy, a Tom and a William, would you be
just as impressed? All i am saying is that i expected a jam
with these three blokes to actually SOUND like these three
blokes, and not Venetian Snares and one other famous and
some other dude in the background making fart noises.

But really, this is an endless discussion. You're a great
big fan of Snares, you listen differently to his music than
i do, i'm perhaps a bit more serious. But i hope that isn't
wrong mate..

you're right, I'm just happy to hear something from mr
snares, don't care much about the collaboration..although mr
frusciante is big though....And I liked the fart joke ;-)
