I know how you feel Monoid, i was always shy around girls until i got older and gained more confidence. i'm a fairly quietly distant person myself; but 'quietly confident' too. if you worry how others judge you it can hold you back allot, that is the key to becoming confident; not caring how you are percieved to others. from my experience girls pick up on it and are attracted to this. A confident and calm man is the equivilent to a slender hot sexy girl in a bikini (but don't confuse these together or you will end up ass bruised in a hotel room in bangkok). A fat ugly girl is the equivilent to a neurotic nervous shy man, if you are a fat ugly man you need to wear your confidence the same way a girl wears makeup The fact that you openly admit your problems in public is a good thing, all you need to do is put yourself into a more socially dymanic environment, such as University, work, or some another activity where you can meet women. |

not giving a fuck what people think of you is an effect of a number of different things, all of which are extremely difficult to achieve. from trying to confront my fears about what people think of me and putting myself in situations where i either sank or swam actually fucked me up an awful lot. it was my belief that if i could withstand social humiliation then eventually i would become immune to it (or something). the reality for me was that i felt socially ostracised, and ended up far less confident than i did before who knows though, maybe i just did it wrong |

I agree it's hard, if your natural character is quiet and shy then converting to being outspoken and confident is not an easy transition. But I think as i said you can be quiet and confident at the same time, but also letting go of the part of you that worrys what people think is a process which is possible to overcome with time. There is a guy where i work who everyone always talks about being weird, he freaks everyone out espeicaly the girls. his sense of humar is dead pan and dark. he makes people feel uncomfortable by his stange comments and not many people like him, but I have always admired him because he really does not care what people think. |

Also (and this is a serious comment), just trying dressing smartly, get really drunk and I am fairly sure a girl (perhaps a desperate one, tbh, as you're v. drunk, remember) will dance with you. Well I've had sex billions of times, but I'm also a poor artist. Imagine how many non-virgin homeless there are!!! having interests in other people is good, that is how you make friends with others... but what i mean is when you interact with people your character, opinions, and general persona is judged by them, either conciously or unconciously . If you don't care so much about it then you will appear more confident because you will act freely and as i said allot of women are attracted to this. But being like this will not take away any qualities you have of being empathetic or excepting of people. It's difficult to define exactly what i mean without writing a big essay and really there is no exact science to attracting women. if you worry about how you are pervieced it will effect you in a number of ways which in time will eat at you until you hate yourself. |
