I have hardcore abdominal pain, crawling around on the floor and breathing heavily etc I've Just been to the Doctor i might have a kidney stone! have any of you had this before? i noticed the pain gets really bad after eating, so now i 'm just going to eat soup and poridge I am scared of peeing out a big rough stone through my penis >_< |

yep. first one hospitalised me, as i thought i was having a ruptured appendix. doctors didn't even realise this at the time, until i had a 2nd (and third) renal colic, which the doctors finally diagnosed. i changed my drinking diet considerably, cutting back on all soft drinks (bar a single can a day) with the rest being completely water. i don't even drink alcohol anymore. i had a ct scan about a month ago and get my results at the end of this month. i haven't had renal colic in about 8 months now, so fingers crossed, i'm clear. and yes, it is the worst pain imaginable. women who have had kids described it as even worse than childbirth and after experiencing an 8 hour kidney stone attack, I can understand why. it is horrible. DRINK. MORE. WATER. do it now. |

Brisk I also thought it was my apendix because it's in same area lower right side, i have been into hospital twice, second time i called an ambulance and was on gas and air. both times the doctors discharged me with pain killers and antibiotic as they thought it was just an infection. My own doctor today thinks i have a kidney stone, so tomorrow i'm going to get a scan. I heard that if the stone is too big they can first attempt a extracorporeal shock wave , this is basicaly a high intensity sound wave concentrated like a laser which explodes the stone into pieces |

yeah, if the stone is too big, they blast sonic waves at it directly - usually this will be a 15 minute extended edit of brian adams "everything i do", which usually completely decimates the stone by the time the first chorus breaks. |

just got the results back from CT scan, 1x 6mm stone in the right kidney and 2x 3mm stones in the left need to get into hospital soon to get it sound blasted! |
