This would be a good concept for a book or movie: What if an intergalactic shift took place and the Earth passed through some sort of radiation that caused the male chromosome to become ineffective, so every fetus going forward would be a female by default. Even the sperm in the sperm-banks would be rendered useless because of the male-chromosome depleting radiation.
