went to the perth gig last night. it was only then that i
realised that the boys had made this thing physical.

i stood there a few rows back from the front with my eyes
shut. most of the others were doing the same thing.

autechre kept changing the bass kick throughout, all of
those frequencies targeting different parts of the body. i
was having a lot of involuntary twigs.

the sounds they whipped up seemed to blow wind around the
venue. i got very strong impressions of cyclone-like shapes
moving around the room. the whole thing was like some kind
of nightmare, but an enjoyable one, if that makes sense. or
you could say it was like standing in the belly of a living
gantz graf.

i was stone sober after two weak-as-piss gin & tonics at a
nearby bar. definitely the best state of mind for it .. the
local nu-ravers disappeared very quickly.

thanks for coming down fellas.

That shit was rad. Sydney show was fuckin packed to the
rafters, Rob Hall was well sick, ae did an hour and a half,
sounded perfect and did a very different set to the
circulating recordings. As usual there was very little
recognizable material; tiny bits of Quaristice and
Oversteps. Very dynamic set, got really intense at times but
ended quietly. People loved it, the whole place went fuckin
nuts. Win.

Eh no Harm 313 in Sydney though, bummed about that but it as
still a top night.

!! big thank you for ae for coming down and playing an
amazing set! and to everyone else involved^^

however i will say, the latest set is absolutely unreal and
like a lot of other silly fanbois would absolutely love to
hear a soundboard. cous that shit was amazing!

copy+paste from watmm:
man that set was unreal!
there seemed to've been a good few number of songs in there
which was were just incredible. people keep commenting on
the bass hits. it was almost asif every song had its own
unique bass hit which was pretty juicy.

blos, on 30 May 2010 - 07:25 PM, said:
"...now I realise why they don't release the live sets,
simply because they need to be heard that loud and that
clearly."

i kind of understand this as well. or at least, the whole
process of them playing live seems so perfected that
something would might be lost in just a live recording. that
said, the material is so insanely good that it does need to
be heard by as many fans as possible. and for the people
lucky enough to see it live, it needs to be heard again and
again!

some of the songs that were in the set. oh my god, they were
so good. the one song with the ultra fast lcc style beat.
the mixing on those bass hits was phenomenal! and not only
the drums. but all the amazing synths and awesome metallic
squelches going on. crazy rhythms. man, i loved that shit. i
really need to a hear a good quality recording of the
oversteps set.

Melbourne show was AMAZING.

I'd waited 10+ years for a chance to see Autechre, and was
not disappointed. So incredibly intense and detailed. Love
it.

Over at watmm someone was talking up having a decent
recording... any word on what the go is with recordings from
the Aus shows?

Someone over at WATMM says he's gonna put up a high quality
"decent" recording on Archive.org soon. Hasn't happened yet
though.

There's nothing on Archive past 2008 seemingly. I need this
show damnit!

I took a little footage with my camera. The quality is
pretty (very) shitty but I'll put it up on Youtube soon
anyway.

the .txt inside the file only stated:
"Please do not share Mp3 versions of this show on any Forum
or wherever, as I have noticed that a lot of great shows get
lost this way."

what i posted was links to the same .flac files that they
released.

these links were found on the watmm board so I was just
reposting them here for those that are google or other
messageboard shy/impaired.

nice one greg, i'll check the remaster.
