I've just started using a UW, and it's like a whole new
universe for me, musically.
A revelation, coming from software-based production.
Anyone else here fond of their Swedish machines?

auszuprobieren.
Find den Sound aber geil. Bin auch aus München - haste Bock
mir das mal zu zeigen? Vielleicht mal nen Jam starten? :]

yeah I got one a few months ago. They are pretty amazing to
jam on

I find it interesting that patterns are always open and
can't be 'saved', really forces you to get good at making
beats fast and getting to know the machine really well.

They can be saved in Snapshots I believe?
But yes, they make you move and I am very keen on learning
more tricks.

kommunizieren, Daten rein/raus.. Processing/ChucK
antriggern, ungekehrt mit Processing MD Parameter steuern,
solche Dinge.

Love my MD and MnM... though the MnM is bricked at the
moment - gotta ship it back over to Sweden at some point.

I still want to play with one of them, but i have failed to
find a studio with one or more of the machines in them.

don't you have any music conventions in netherlands ? i had
my first contact with electron gear in poland 3 years ago on
one. spend about 4 hours and didn't see any gear besides
that.

My I use all of their gear, man I sure love their gear, so
awesome. It's great gear and I guess efficient and nicely
designed, a great product for all ages.

great fun for the whole family.

it's actually quite saddening that elektron is so alone in
the field of "interesting hardware". 95% of the synths that
are released are built on the same boring
3osc-2filters-adsr-effects block and maybe toss you a second
lfo fo real modulating madness. and every drum machine or
beat box is a clone of the x0x family.

i can really understand the popularity of elektron stuff
amongst users who are searching for unusual sounds - because
there is absolutely no other choice left.

Haven't a clue - I think it's a power issue, I've had a
small poke around inside myself under guidance from the
staff at Elektron though and I can't find the fault. :(

Agreed about the unique aspect, I think this is why so many
people have turned to modular gear in the last few years.

how much work can you save without the +drive?

Yep, I've spoken to them and they'll fix it for about 200
Euro including shipping back to me, which I think is fair
enough. Just gotta get the cash up together. Keep in mind
that the MnM is out of warranty as it was second hand, so
who knows what it was put through before I had it. My MD
from new, meanwhile, has had no problems at all and I love
it to bits. I'm only just starting to yearn over having the
MnM back now after a few months.

The only catch with the Snapshots (+Drive) is that there's a
short interruption when saving.

and it interrupts when loading. This isn't very good I
think, maybe they can fix it.
