I'm going to Holland for a few weeks this summer. I'm going to stay in Rotterdam, but I plan to visit the other Randstad cities. Can someone give me a tip about clubs or concert venues? I've heard about and in Rotterdam, but would also like to hear about similar places in Amsterdam, Haag and Utrecht. I like Intelligent Dance Music, and Intelligent Rock Music. Yours truly bingob |

ill show you the hague. for nightlife i generally like to drink beers, but we could do it when there's some intelligent music concert. do you like modern classical as well? i generally like groups of three, but it will be just you i understand. maybe some other dutch can come here. since i showed pomme de terre the hague last year, i led two city tours for friends and family. i'm good |

Occasional IDM gigs in Utrecht: , . The area around the Oudegracht is full of nice cafés and bars with plenty of music throughout the week. There's also the bigger at the Oudegracht which attracts larger rock bands. |

oh this is not a meet up thread :$ don't know why i thought that in The Hague het Paard van Troje (Horse of Troj). also there's festivals pretty often, and prefer those, cause you get to see stuff you didn't know yet. in The Hague, in Amsterdam. prolly the other big cities as well: Utrecht, Rotterdam. you should let us know the dates you're here and we could look into those. (and not go ourselves so we won't accidently meet up) |

It´s not until late August. 15th to 27th/28th. I´m in Rotterdam mon-fri, but I will probably go somewhere else in the weekends. DJ Shadow is playing in Holland in July and Plaid in September, so I hope there is some action in August too. I´m scared of Xltronic people, but perhaps I will tell you when I come, so we can do Intelligent Death Raping. |

I lived in Rotterdam for a year and it was a really nice city for clubbing. One of the biggest clubs in the whole region is there, Now&Wow. Their website is down but you can check it out . It had a tendency to be a bit decadent, in a not only a positive way but they had some really good gigs |

Thanks for the tips guys. The Stekker fest looks cool, but plane tickets are already bought, and I'm arriving sunday 15th, so that's a day too late. Do you live in Utrecht, retape? I've checked out a lot of venues and clubs, and many seem to be closed in august. At least the are some nice concerts at Rotown (Villagers, Surfer Blood, Girls). I guess I have to do some sightseeing and maybe catch a football match, and if I'm getting desperate I can always go to Pukkelpop or Lowlands. |
