if the sun be an empty fish bowl ( but still big) then you
could fit 1000000 planet earth's inside. 100x100 x100

A light year is 5865696000000 miles

the sun is 0.0000158(3) light years away

Alpha Centauri = 4.2421 lights years away = 24882869001600
miles

Little plasma spikes on surface (e.g. near base of the
prominence) look like dancing EQ waves on music
visualization plugins.

The whole thing is trippy, because it's converting energy
that is normally not VISIBLE with animal eyes, into a format
that can be SEEN. Converting normally imperceptible
sense-data into something that is perceptible by one sense
is pretty incredible (philosophically, anyway). It's like
converting rgb values to notes, etc., then converting an
image to music, aaand then running that music through some
smell machine. So then eventually one could smell a
picture, by means of arbitrary conversion processes.

But at the same time, it's sad because people believe that
the colorful and pearly iridescence of space photography is
actually inherent to those photos, which they are not. Most
of the time, all that space shit is monochromatic.
