Sweetness, I just got it, and I'm listening to it now...
just finished track 1, and I'm so excited!!!! Two cds of
Autechre goodness, Mmmm!!! :)

Track two is awesome!

i prefer disc two, but disc 2 isn't even tri repetae, it's 2
other releases.

I agree... Clipper is the only track from the album that I
downloaded, and it is awesome!!!

i downloaded it all last year....very good!

Don't mean to grumble, but does anyone actually buy these
albums?

By the way, tracks 1,2,3,4,7 and 10 are excellent. The
others are a bit dull. As for the second CD, I couldn't say:
it's not a real part of the album anyway.

yes I bought it...

I buy them. I think it's stupid and cheap to just download
them all. I think Autechre deserve to earn some money,
because they're actually doing something that's forward
thinking and interesting. Plus you miss out on the cool
artwork.

I actually just finished listening to Tri Repetae... amazing
album, I think I'm starting to like it even more than LP5,
now... good stuff.

Krendo... nah, I haven't bought it, I downloaded it. Har
har...

I've bought every autechre release I've come across. I
wouldnt just download them. Gescom is a different thing
though, coz its impossible to get hold of any of their
records....

We must support makers of good music! Buy good records,
download deleted ones!

Co-Existence, what does the Gescom stuff sound like? I've
never heard any of it.

offline Clic on 2002-04-03 19:20 [#00156594]

Yeah, stuff like that is totally understandable,
Co-existence. I had to d/l those two omitted tracks from
SAWII because I couldn't get them anywhere else. But when a
cd is available in almost any shop...

concerned... but me, I just gotta buy the album if I can...

Yeah, people can do whatever they want, but I think it's
just fair for the artist to at least make a little money,
especially if they're doing something that's worth a damn.

Clic, what were the deleted tracks on SAW II? The version I
bought - way back in 1993 when it came out - had all the
tracks on it.

Yeah, but what were the tracks? Do you know the fake names
all the tracks have been given, like 'Rhubarb' and
'Matchsticks'.

Oh, my bad, yeah, it's Hankie and Stone in Focus.

offline Clic on 2002-04-03 19:31 [#00156622]
Points: 5232 Status: Regular

Stone in Focus is like a big 10 minute track, very pretty
though.

offline Krendo from Leicester (United Kingdom) on 2002-04-03 19:32 [#00156625]
Points: 360 Status: Regular

Yeah, I wonder why they decided to delete those tracks.
There are a couple of others that are much worse... (not
knowing the title)... like the one that sounds like a train
station, and goes on for about seven minutes.

offline Clic on 2002-04-03 19:33 [#00156630]
Points: 5232 Status: Regular

Well, Hankie, which I'm listening to right now, is on 4
minutes or so, I guess maybe he didn't want to put that one
on there, or who knows? But Stone in Focus was probably too
long to fit on a cd. BUt I'm just guessing.

offline Clic on 2002-04-03 19:35 [#00156634]
Points: 5232 Status: Regular

Yeah I know which one you are talking about. I have to skip
that track sometimes.

offline Krendo from Leicester (United Kingdom) on 2002-04-03 19:36 [#00156636]
Points: 360 Status: Regular

What about track twelve? That's four minutes long, and it's
basically just some people talking incoherently and in slow
motion over a clutter of windpipes

It's a screen shot from Silent Hill 2. It's a man reaching
up to a little girl sitting on the top of this wall. I
thought it looked kind of cool.

i could never be satisfied by simply burning autechre's
releases. i bought them all. there are some artists that i
just got to have the original releases, like aphex,
squarepusher, nin, pink floyd, the beatles...

and yes, tri rep is great. but after listening to their
more complex releases (lp5-ep7-confield...) for an extended
period of time, it doesnt sound as mindblowing as it once
did. but it's still a spectacular release! it's the
perfect introductory album to autechre; not to
complex/weird, not to simple.

I'd prefer to have the original releases... but it just
ain't possible. I can't afford all these electronic albums.
Nor do I WANT to afford them, actually... burning them is
just fine, for me... my second choice, yeah, but it doesn't
matter much to me at all, personally. As long as I can hear
it... it's the vibrations it makes in my ears that I want,
not the plastic or aluminum or vinyl.

Burning CDs is a recent thing for me... I've got so many
thousands of dollars worth of CDs, Beatles, Pink Floyd,
Radiohead, Rolling Stones... gyarg, most of them I'd GLADLY
return for my cash back, I'd just burn them again. :-)

I must say, the Anvil Vapre EP is excellent... I love it...
haven't really listened to the Garbage one yet... and the
album itself is excellent... Two discs, over 70 minutes each
of Autechre goodness... what a great value...

I prefer the second disc as well, though I listened to it
too much in the past; still burnt out on it. Checked it out
for the first time in months a few days ago; would have to
say second piobmx19 is still my favorite, though second
scepe is nice too.
