Yeah! The first 4 tracks are something else! Also the 6th
and 7th tracks. its my favorite Ae release. Ae's skittering
out of control beats on confield are cool, but I love it
when they make beats that actually keep in time with
themselves. Bonkers!

It IS fucking brilliant. But EP7 and LP5 are better. So is
Tri Repetae. And Confield.

But it's still brilliant!!! I like the word Chiastic, and I
like the word Slide, and I like the way they go together...
bonus points for having a cool album title!

I love Chiastic..it's their most underrated...they even
disowned it or something themselves..I wonder why?

how did they disown it?

they said that it wasnt a proper followup to Tri Repetae or
something..it's all there on All Music

Weird thing to say... maybe some of it is a bit simpler than
their other stuff but still kick ass. Whats this All Music?

it's been said that it's one of the rpoudest release on the
warp label, by one of the company's founder or something (i
cant remember who). and yes, i do agree it is brilliant!
cipater is simply mindblowing!

i love Cipater; it's my favourite beach song. the rest of
the album was excellent in some parts and so-so in others,
but the tracks that are good on Chiastic are some of
Autechre's (and technologically aware music's) best.

Tewe is great too. I hear people talk about Cichli a lot and
Cipater a little but not much about Tewe. Rettic AC is
excellent too, very energetic for its seeming lack of
structure.

Hub is great, it sounds like it should have been on
Confield, I find.

And Recury is fantastic! It's like pop filtered through some
sick machine... the track just sounds so ''nice'' and
''accessible'' to me for some as of yet unknown reason.

Calbruc's nice. it sounds like a goodbye song though. I like
Recury a little better, actually. Recury makes me thinking
of being on this big clipper in the ocean and it's been
raining really hard (while Calbruc is playing) and suddenly
the clouds break and the sky is blue and the air is fresh
and clear.

oh Hub is the boomerang one! I love that one also, it sounds
like someone throwing a boomerang at this strange magic
machine, or maybe throwing a bone across the sky and then
the dog goes and gets it but the dog's huge and really scary
looking. it also makes me think of a car on a train with
little green glass and yellow gauges in it

Nuae makes me tihnk of some big huge machine thats powering
the world
and its breaking down
and
the world ends

Cichli and Nuane were my old faves. Really atmospheric
album, more than any before and certainly more than any
since (not that the newer ones aren't good in their own
way).

fav+ae

Same here: both tracks are among Ae's finest.
