What is/has been your greatest source of inspiration?

My original source of inspiration when i was a young chap
was definitely the production of The RZA of Wu-Tang Clan
fame. His purposely lo-fi, choppyand roughly sampled beats
were far from polished, but were perfect in their
imperfections for me.

I'd say if anything, folks like RDJ inspired me to give up,
cos he made me realise how good i wasnt as a producer.

God,the list is endless, but I'd definitely cite Arthur
Rackham,Fumetti comics,Vintage pulp paperbacks and Robert
Crumb as my main sources of inspiration for what I do.

my inspiration came from my father, he played in a band when
he was young, i got into music because of him, then i just
sort of started liking strange sounds. i liked listening to
radio static and noise like a broken fax machine then i
discovered autechre lol

thats hard to say inspiration for me is copying certain
aspects
of music you hear and integrate them into your makings.
but since this requires knowledge and skills or patience,
its not always easily achieved and can be frustrating.

much more important i find motivation to do it in the
first place. anything motivated me, from good music,
books, film really anything that left a strong feeling and
to transport this feeling into music.
these days nothing motivates me at all, i havent done
anything for months. (except a few photoshops)

it might of been steve ditko he create it in the 70s , yeah
i liked those comics, they were sort of surreal and had some
amazing art work, you might want to look it up. it's not
really main stream, but a good find

Mind, creative thoughts, desire to find something new... is
inner sources of inspiration. Outside world for me acts as
impulse for inspiration.

ah.. let me track down some Vinge..

“Anyway, some things are more beautiful simply because
they are ephemeral. Think of a flower opening or a song as
you play it, or a rainbow… think of making love.”

Sparks thought of those things, and bit his lip. “I guess
it’s stupid to look back and be sorry they’re gone,
then.”

“It’s human.” She tilted her head quizzically, as
though she were listening to his thoughts. “But for the
artist the real joy is in the creation of the thing. When
you feel something growing under your hands, you grow with
it. You’re alive, the energy flows. When it’s
finished, you stop growing. You stop living. You only live
for the next act of creation. Don’t you feel that, when
you play your music?”

-THE SNOW QUEEN, joan d vinge
