pd maxmsp bidule?!?!?

anyone familiar with these ?

i've been using bidule for a while .

just wondered if anyone on here can help freqy?

im trying to send a repetitive osc ( open sound control)
message without using midi as a trigger. ( cause midi is as
accurate as a drunken blind headless chicken with out a map
or compass or location to travel too )

maybe an oscillator to trigger an osc creator? But i cant
make it happens!!!

i need sent one after the other :

osc message 1
osc message 2
osc message 1
osc message 2
osc messgae 1
osc message 2

Somemany on here are very hip n happening ... teach freqy
the ways of the force , maybe a little layout he can use so
i can destroy the death star.

Peace
an freqyloves :X

Ah sorry didn't look at the order thing bit.

Metronome to a counter containing however many osc messages
there are then a bang to each osc? Ill post a pic in a
second.

This circuit bangs the two osc thingy things at the end
(which will be your send messages) alternately every half a
second when the toggle is on. I don't know what bidule is
though so this might not be of any help to you.

To change the rate at which they are triggered just change
the value after 'metro' if you want to have 'live' control
over this rate with a dial i'll show you that too.

sounds cool

yeah man a metronome ( a bang is a trigger right?) so
metronome hi low hi low

hi = osc msg 1
low = osc msg 2

your a pd user? i've not used that yet, only bidule.

wow thanks ,

bidule is a prog like max msp and ( modules that you can
connect together)

can you upload that path/layout so i can try it .....i will
stroke your hairs and feed you candyfloss and marshmellows
via the internet pixels that join us even if you cant.

oh right so this is max msp .....cool the daddy of all
module thingys .......PD is ( pure data) a baby version of
max msp ....bidule is like a long lost cousin .....v v v is
another but ive yet to try.

Of course! Do you need two outputs, one for each message? if
you know the messages I will put them in place of the phony
OSC 1 and OSC 2 boxes. I will also add a dial to control
bang rate.

Also what file format do PD and bidule read? Can they open
.maxpat files?

the osc message i need is on my other machine i wil have to
go to it and switch over might take me a few moments. to
find out the exact osc message that i need to trigger. it

you what i it is

Plogue Bidule has a good messageboard on their site, this
one dude answers all questions in good time.

Bidule is awesome, i make a lot of cool drum machines and
effects with it.

vvvv is nice though, made it do motion tracking with
fiducial markers today, but i think vvvv is more useful for
processing of visual stuff, for dsp and sound i would use
max/msp

hi

my other machine decided to to die on me tonight ( typical)

From my memory

there is an osc adress /position/xy data1 = 1 data2 =.5

capabilities like that program?

Jitter would be your answer, it's integrated into max/MSP by
default nowadays

Pulseclock; it's actually pretty easy, just think logically
and check out what every pin does and keep the documentation
and reference guides at hand.

Indeksical; i'd love to! But i don't have version 5 of max
:(

if you're in max you might want to do the time messages sent
at MSP rate, rather than max message rate (bangs get sent to
the processor way slower than msp audio rate stuff). Use a
phasor for the clock [instead of metro] and >~ set at 0.5 so
that every ramp will send a response. i think the edge~
object is useful too. Sorry if thats a bit imprecise- its
been a while since i've used it and my memory is a bit foggy
but using msp for timing is much more stable. . . worth
reading researching the max list.

Max 5 = 700$

damn.

thanks lupus yonderboy. i wish i had your brain in my head
and that it was connected to my hands . i would cover me/us
in soap and we'd role around the floor.... then wed make a
max msp layout together and then id feed us marshmellows and
candy floss.

lupus is right, the values of a ramp will be sent quicker
than a bang. Is this important freq?

What I'm understanding is that you just want the value '1'
to be first message and '0.5' to be the second right? no
other data?

I'll post as is but to be honest I doubt it'll be
compatible.

wow ,thanks indeksical i shall try this tomorrow when i get
my pc working again.

i can hopefully change the parameters, i'll figure it out.
:P

i love you's ..........

freqy sends the fluffiest pinkest candfloss and softest
marshmellows to indeksical.

goddamn, this is some advanced haxorz shitz going on. XD

pulseclock: haven't used vvvv, but if you want to do
on-the-fly animation things, you should try Processing. It's
free and much easier to get into than you might expect from
a text based language, also it's somewhat more flexible than
these blueprint style connect-the-dots environments. For
video (as in movie file) manipulation/playback, it's much
slower than jitter though.

oh for mac there's also quartz composer, this might be for
you maybe? haven't tried it but seems to work with 3d things
and video, and is more like max/pd/vvvv. Free too, but you
need to register an apple developer account.
