dr dre headphones

i just bought these "beats by dr dre"...

Celebrity endorsed marketing gimmick and everything aside,
they're actually pretty sweet & super comfy. Very honest
representation of the sound, especially the bass. It's not
a gross "bass boost" or anything either it just allows the
existing bass to come through a lot more. The point that
sold me was when i was testing with my ipod and i went to
Surripere by autechre.... don't think i've ever heard it
sound so good.

Though I almost had to pass because the sales guy kept
caling me bro and requesting i refer to him as "brother
brown", or just "ferocious". I'm still a little skeptical
of em actually... probably because they're called beats by
dr dre or maybe cuz they were $300..

time to work on something and report back in the future#@!$

Oh my... seriously?

I tried these things on when passing through a local Best
Buy. These may be a worse value than the Bose "Tri Port"
headphones. At $350, these may be worth $99 based on the
sound and build quality.

For $99 I can buy an AKG K240. Why the fuck would anybody
purchase these monstrous sounding things, especially at the
price?

haha yeah. seriously.

they're not that bad! Not worth the money though, true.
But they do sound good.

Why the fuck i bought them:

1. they were a hundred dollars off...

2. I secretly grew quite fond of this ferocious guy
throughout his sales pitch. Very similar to the brown guy
from 40 year old virgin who says "pussy juice cocktail" and
"rusty trombone".. we pounded fists like 4 times within the
first 10 minutes of meeting so uh think about it

3. also i'd been walking in the hot hot sun and was
desperate and delusional, i only slept for 30 minutes last
night somehow, throw that in the mix.

3.5. Maybe my closet hip-hop personality will come to form
more easily now

4............. i should have not bought these... i have no
job or anything really - basically all the qualities of a
homeless, yellar, no-good man except with a home.
Especially the drinking of 40's

Eh, I guess I did come off a bit harsh though. In reality,
if you're happy with the purchase that's all that matters in
the end.

I'd like to listen to these in a studio setting... maybe
they're more of an analytical can than a listening one.
Plus, judging from an iPod with no headphone amp is a bit
impractical, no?

haha no worries. Mind you, impractical is my middle name

I'm no headphone connoisseur, but from what i can tell
already the spectrum of highs and lows that these offer are
way better than what my last few pairs of SONY/Audio
Technica Headphones have had.

Regardless if i just blew a wad, of unnecessary cash or
not.. i'm pretty sure i'll be happy with these for a couple
years.

O i almost forgot to mention it comes with a once in a
lifetime "Monster Clean Cloth with Aegis Microbe Shield", i
bet you wish you had one or two of those.

if there's ever a celebrity who i will endorse it's probably
going to be dre. don't ask me why, but i bet it's that
introverted silent type thing he got going on which makes
him more trustworthy than say...kanye vuitton

That "brown guy" killed a few people, so be wary of the
"ferocious" salesman hanging out by your window wanting to
fist bump with his hunting knife.

I stand corrected, make that attempted murderer. Apparently
she survived her 20 stabbings.

You know, I am glad you are happy with your purchase and
all. But I would never buy monitors that make my iPod music
sound the 'best I have ever heard them'. Monitors aren't
about making your music sound good.

Classic marketing line;

'Give your dad beats for fathers day'.

Sorry, I can't really take any headphones endorsed by
celebrity seriously, even Dre.

Waiting for the HD-800's to be released and will probably
buy them to replace my HD-650's (which are looking a little
battered these days, but still work a charm)
