I like the main melody that starts at 0:27. I think its
harder to compose with different melody sounds because its
harder to distinguish pitches between different sounds, plus
its can be hard to know if two separate sounds are tuned to
the same c note or whatever.

Indeed. Especially when you 'know' how it is supposed to
sound (in your head), but you never seem to get it right. I
decided to merely use the melody in the beginning and the
end to make it harder for myself. Almost the second I lose
the spontaneity with a song-in-progress, the creativity goes
in the same direction (downhill).
