Funny thing. A month ago a bike courier who regularly
delivers in my building (who is batshit crazy) was talking
about some conspiracy theory to me in the elevator. He said
that some trucker who was transporting goods for a
pharmecutical company read on the waybill that it was
biological weaponry. Apparently it was was some hybrid of
the avian flu.

This flu is part swine, part human, part avian. Now the next
time I see him I am going to have to listen to him talk
about it some more.

Yeah that's the thing, I was really critical of "conspiracy
people" but after a while their stories (well the blogs
anyway) checked out.

That Alex Jones guy has lot's of specialist on his radio
show from reputable places. I've known about this avian flu
stuff for months.
And if you go through all the Main stream blogs/news papers
you can dig up the paper trail for it.

I can't really paraphrase all the information (there is so
much to remember), but apparently they are taking these
really high level security labs and moving them to
ridiculous places around residential type areas. There is
just a ton of stuff, read his blog (he has like 5 paid
workers, it's not just one dude) LAZY_TITLE It's not
like 7 FOOT LIZARDS! it's more like "Ex CIA Official talks
about -Insert Scandel-"

My own theory is that it might coincide with Monsanto
wanting to sell genetically modified pigs that are
"resistant" to certain sicknesses.

Slash dot article on Monsanto and Patent Pigs

Monsanto is like an agricultural pair handcuffs of for
geopolitical itineraries.

I don't see what the problem is. If he reports on something,
and there is a valid source (AP,ROUTERS) does that lack news
worthy attention? I don't want to attack anyone who is for
or against the guy, but personally I think he's blog is
really good.

I'll give you one reason not to trust Alex Jones and his
guys on this: they're scientifically illiterate. Here's a
quote from one of their stories on H1N1:

“This strain of swine influenza that’s been cultured
in a laboratory is something that’s not been seen anywhere
actually in the United States and the world, so this is
actually a new strain of influenza that’s been
identified,” said Dr. John Carlo, Dallas Co. Medical
Director (video clip here).

Was this a slip-up or an admission that this new
super-strain of swine influenza was deliberately cultured in
a laboratory and released?

Are they taking stupid pills? Culturing a pathogen is the
first step in identifying it and learning how to treat it or
create vaccines.

Notice they have another version of the story here
where someone corrected that - WITH NO NOTIFICATION OF THE
EDIT - and the front page links to both at the same time.
That's so unethical I think it'd even be beneath Fox to do
that. When you make a correction, you notify your readers.
Jesus.

I agree he can be a little underhanded, but not all the
time. I've seen him do some pretty low stuff. If you watch
the interview he did with Peter Joseph (the guy who made
zeitgeist) he does all this shit like keep the music playing
while he is making points. Peter being very much more well
spoken and Alex being a jerk cause he's threatened by
Joseph.

I think it killed a lot of mexicans because they didn't know
what they were dealing with. in fact the only reason they
were alerted to the problem was because it killed a
lot of mexicans. The rest of the world has the distinct
advantage of being on alert for this specific virus, seeking
treatment early and not living in Mexico.

I think there just isn't much other news to report. People
are sick of hearing about pirates, ugly talent show
vocalists, and suicide bombers blowing up Mosques in Iraq.

Haha I love Alex Jones. (sorry Fleet!) He's a bit of a
local celebrity around here, which is part of it. Saw him
present one of his films a year or two ago in fact. He and
his crew are waaayyyyy too paranoid for their own good and
make enormous, illogical generalizations sometimes, but he
definitely makes you question the powers that be.

I also have to agree that the stuff the Infowars team posts
on the web really gets on my tits just cause they're biased
and amateurish. Nevertheless, I'm going to defend him a
little.. because while the information is presented sloppily
sometimes, and with a bit too much righteous fervor and/or
paranoia, the man is CONVICTED and really puts his soul into
this stuff, as well as quite a bit of research (though I
can't vouch for the accuracy of the conclusions he draws
from it..). He also has stamina. The dude puts on a four
hour radio show every weekday and a three hour local show on
Sunday afternoons.

On a side note, if even a smidgen of what he says is
accurate, we're all fucked.

i think this guy is as clueless to the conspiracies going as
the rest of us. I mean its god for him to spread awareness
if he knows things, but i'm not gonna like sign on to his
radiostation and "jump-on-the-bandwagon" just yet. I would
rather trust my own instict and know that the people who are
making this world shitty are still doing things no one can
know about right away. But those conspiring people aren't
the end all be all of the human race, fuck them.

I love you with a powerful manlove, uviol, but I question
the powers that be just fine on my own without the gravelly
voice of Alex Jones intoning non sequiturs about Space
Bankers and chemtrails. Most of his plot is just repurposed
John Birch Society and Protocols of the Elders of Zion
material. Most of it falls apart with even minor google investigation.

And in my mind, conviction is no measure of respectability.
I daresay Fred Phelps is pretty convicted - doesn't mean he
should be someone to look up to. Here's what his son
has to say about him. Sounds pretty convicted to me.

Oh lord, don't get me wrong, I've met some of these people
and they're really and truly nuts. The hardcore ones,
anyway.

Fleet: The love is reciprocated completely. You make good
points, as usual. While there was a time when I would have
defended his entire "movement," these days my defense of him
is pretty much limited to his personality, which unlike
yourself, apparently, I find intriguing and affable.

You may be able to question the powers that be just fine,
but a lot of what he said was new to me when I first came
across it. While I don't buy much of it now (yes, I've read
Screw Loose Change before :) ), I feel it was valuable to
hear his side of things, even if it's BS.

I may have to concede the conviction point.. Pat Robertson
comes to mind too.
