Is he really making a difference?

I don't think so.

I can appreciate that he is in presidency at the time of
difficult economic circumstances, but he just hasn't done
anything he said he would. Fair enough, he hasn't been in
for very long, but still- he has changed nothing.

I am not in America, so I can't judge these things massively
well, but I feel a lot of Americans don't fully understand
what is going on in their country, but maybe I am wrong in
that too.

I feel America (and therefore to some extent the planet) has
all of the problems it had before.

I don't want to feel that the world is shit. Please prove me
wrong.

From what I have seen, he hasn't shown any hope of changing
anything. Ever.

Are you a fucking moron? At the very least, so far, he has
inspired millions of people. To change, people have to
realise that things need to change, and they need
inspiration, leadership and help to make such changes. WTF
do you expect? For him to personally come round and wipe
your arse for you?

People were inspired when Reagan came into power.

As said, Obama doesn't control the country. There are people
above him, behind the scenes. That's my belief, anyway.

What you have said is something, sure. But how has he
inspired this crazy new will for change? Just by being voted
in? No one has yet given me any facts on this thread on how
Obama has actually changed anything. I stand unconvinced.

I am glad Obama is in power rather than McCain, btw. I am
more questioning whether the world is shit and there is any
real hope for change. Not Obama bashing.

I don't understand why anyone besides a right wing nut job
would think that Obama is left wing. We don't have a
politically viable left wing in the United States. The
furthest left most of our so-called liberal politicians go
is centrist. At least, that's how I see it. If you can't
see the fundamental differences between the last
administration and this one, I think your perspective is
dubious.

So a left wing columnist writes an article suggesting that
Obama is too far from the left. It's an opinion piece. I
may even agree with him.

Obama's not going to touch our massive, bloated intelligence
community. He's not going to radically alter the "war on
drugs" in the short term. He's probably not going to do
much that the left wants him to do. I don't believe a
leftist could be elected in the United States, for the most
part. The right wing assertion that Obama's left wing,
socialist etc is just blowing smoke.

These are my opinions. Viva XLT!

Obama is coming to Baden Baden this weekend. I live only one
hour from there, but I guess because of the security
measures it would be a waste of time to try and see him.
