for those that >ahem< create electronic music,
I suggest a gigantic remix thread.

First someone posts a song.
Second person remixes said song.
Third person remixes the second person's remix.
Fourth person remixes the third remixers work....
and so on and so forth.

Anyone up for this?

oh and the length and bitrate will be as long as you want.
(please under 7 minutes.)

*ahem*

is that a "yes" or are you clearing your throat?

there probably should be an order as well so it's doesn't
get so convoluted.

do ya have to work with just rendered audio, or can ya take
the last guy's reason file and remix that

offline ph from United States on 2009-03-24 19:50 [#02281839]
Points: 411 Status: Regular

oh I see.
you have to re-mutilate the rendered track as a whole by
cutting it up or whatever...
no easy way out.

offline hexane on 2009-03-24 19:51 [#02281840]

coz someone is prolly gonna hack the shit out of it in one
round and making it harder for the next fag to work with

offline hexane on 2009-03-24 19:52 [#02281841]
Points: 2035 Status: Lurker | Show recordbag

okay no easy way, that kewl makes it more of a challenge
then

offline ph from United States on 2009-03-24 19:53 [#02281842]
Points: 411 Status: Regular

oh definitely, that'll be the best part of it...
it could go in some insane direction that is barely
recognizable from the original.

offline ph from United States on 2009-03-24 19:54 [#02281843]

so hexane you're in?

offline glasse from Harrisburg (United States) on 2009-03-24 19:55 [#02281845]
Points: 4211 Status: Regular | Show recordbag

why can't people break it into layers?

offline ph from United States on 2009-03-24 19:56 [#02281846]
Points: 411 Status: Regular

that would be too easy.
it's all about how you are able to take bits and pieces to
make it work.
I've done this dozens of times and it's a helluvalot of fun.

offline pulseclock from Downtown 81 on 2009-03-24 19:56 [#02281847]

ok, i'll start, the song i would like to be remixed is,
Lifestyles Of the Casual by: The Other People Place

now do i start mixing it up or does someone else?

offline glasse from Harrisburg (United States) on 2009-03-24 19:58 [#02281849]

second that it should be all original xlt sounds

offline ph from United States on 2009-03-24 20:00 [#02281852]
Points: 411 Status: Regular

I was hoping it would be of someone's own creation...
but I didn't really clarify that.
that way it would come from left field and chances are
nobody has ever heard it.
and we all will own it in a way.

incase you wanted to use the original unaffected one and do
your own speed changes or whatever to it. can't wait to hear
these though, thanks for choosing my track

hopefully they will go along with it as the whole idea is
not for there to be a ton of remixes of one track, but
rather a remix of a remix of a remix ad nauseum

sounds fun, so far looks like you hexane and me are all
doing it, so go ahead and start yours whenever and just let

oh and of course no extra instruments, samples or otherwise

melodies.
