i've starting using traktor thanks to the good vibes in
here, fighting with the LAZY_NESS of reading the fucking
manual and all but the question is, after you have all the
fun how do you usually edit all the crap from the freshly
recorded audio? thanks and sorry for the amateur-ish
attitude!

depends on which version you're using, traktor pro ditched
the native recorded that recorded the movements and
trackselections - like a sequencer of sorts - and you could
overdub to your heart's delight. so if you got version 3
then that is an option to consider

seeing as i'm so (cough) awesome and professional, i never
make mistakes - however if i were to do some, i'd just
rewind to a certain point in the track you fucked up in and
just do a retake - then it's just a matter of editing the
file in your audio-editor of choice

i was thinking about posting the *if you do some* line! like
all the things i guess its a matter of years of experience..
well, yes i'm using traktor 3, you suggest to upgrade to pro
to get the overdubbing feature then? and may i ask how do
you proceed when you open the mix in the audio editor..? you
would find the error and cut it off, then you merge the file
removing the silence, perhaps applying some kind of fx in
order to hide the mistake? aaand.. even if you don't do
mistakes, is it recommended to make some kind of treatment
to the whole file like a subltle flanger or noise or whateva
to add some flavor to the mix or its better to leave it
clean? in these days of practice i feel i'm a fan of 'real
time' movements so i think that the overdubbing one would be
a funnier solution! man im being one big hassle!

traktor pro does not have the native mix feature - i should
probably have emphasised that, sorry

stick with traktor 3, the pro version is a bit quaint and it
took me about a month to get to grips with it and being on
the same level as i was with the previous (same thing
happened when i upgraded from t2...)

as for the editing bit, if you do it neatly and zoom in as
deep as you can, you will be able to cut it at exactly or
very close to spot you need, say like the beginning of a bar
or another accentuated part. if your editor has the ability
to set markers use that to set the in and out of your
mistake and just cut that shit right out. as for effects i
rarely use it, however i've done a slight reverse-section
just before the edit - for my own reference mostly

traktor started acting weird.. it says that cannot play two
songs for corrupted files/drm protection ect. but the mp3s
are alright, they can played again if i clean the playlist
but cannot load the native mix in which the tracks have been
probably 'corrupted', so now i would have to render the mix
in three pieces and join together later.. bit annoying
considering that those parts were quite nicely executed :(
