we're kinda building this new God, religion, internet... in order to further separate ourselves from animals by artificially enhancing our perception of time and space. Apple will release a couple of new iPod models before you die probably.

the world is coming to a point where everyone will realize they fucked themselves over knowingly and willfully for their own egotistically useless purposes.
2012, fingers crossed! it's not too late!

contrary to what you might think, not everyone is a selfish asshole all of the time. And this is all happening because of choices people made before we were even alive. The best thing we can do is what is ultimately right, It's known as self-control. We may not have a control over a comet hitting us but we can be repectful to people

What is the significance of the year 2012?

I disagree, the vasy majority of people are the embodiment of greed, selfishness, jealousy and hypocrisy. Stop blaming the past, the world would change today if everybody changed now.
The word respect is a fashion statement. Do I respect anyone with a religious belief? No. I tolerate them though. Tolerance is far more important than respect.

The thing is, you may be right with your words, but deep down it all means the same.
Respect - tolerance, not too dissimilar in essence, if you tolerate someone, you are respecting them enough to understand their function on this planet as a living being, just as you are.
I am not blaming the past, but i am saying that there are things that will affect you as a human on this earth that were not done to you be a choice that you made.
This is a fundamental truth and not a philosophical discussion.

There are many interpretations, most popular is the idea of the mayan civilization's astronimical discoveries and how it relates to their calendar, this mayan "calendar" supposedly ends on the date of December 21, 2012.
However there have been many studies to prove that this was never even truely a mayan discoverey.
the significance as of now is that on December 21, 2012, the world "as we know it" will cease to exist by means that are unknown as of now, which includes death, destruction, hysteria, enlightenment, world peace, resurrection of "Jesus Christ", and many more end-o-the-world scenarios.
This all ironically gained importance only recently and has been spreading voraciously over the internet, throught the media, even bookstores now sell books on how to "survive 2012."

I've seen. read all of those. Which of each do you think will be correct? Or did you just mean various parts of each, as they seem to you to be the closest to the most realistic vision of the future?
