my uncle roger

my uncle is really old and living alone. he used to live
with my aunt bet but she died. when she died the window
cleaner was there to be supportive and kind. things have
gotten really fucking creepy. the window cleaner brings his
family round and insists on doing kind things for
roger whilst constantly telling him that they are there for
him bla bla. the families kind of bullied him into being
reliant on them and has isolated him by suggesting/hinting
that family visits disrupt the support they are giving him.
roger is always worried he'll displease them somehow and
they use this to get things, they've already been given a
lot of money for being so 'helpful'. when bet died they used
rogers emotional frailty and kindly suggested that they
cleaned out bets room as it would be too sad for him....nuff
things are gone, things like this silver milk jug bet really
loved and loads of special antique bits and bobs. lots of
special family things are gone actually. thing is roger is a
proud man so we can't tell him, we can't confront the window
cleaner and his pikey family cos he's manipulated roger so
much (he'd say 'see, your family dosn't understand you
roger, we're pals but they just get in the way,' that kind
of shit), we can't stop them from being around because that
will be in their favour too (roger would really miss them,
that's how they got their claws in see). he gave them a
cheque for 5000 and tried to include the pikey son in the
will! it's just so creepy the way they've done this, and
they've blantantly sold bets collection of things at some
nasty car boot sale. i don't mind the money roger gave them,
it's the special little things they've taken. it's the way
they've done this to him at his weakest point. it's so
fucking low and dirty. anyway. sigh

What do you mean by "pikey" - are they actually Roma or are
you using that racial slur to indicate that they're dirty
and thieving?

why bring that up? either way this window cleaner sounds
like a dirty rat fuckwit.

its a fookin cheap shot wat he's doing, and i bet my window
licker is probs preying on more than one of his clients,
dude needs taking out of the equasion.

Ampi why dont you start knocking rnd at ur uncles place more
often and let window dude know that you are grateful-ish for
his support so far but your about to take over now....?

Im going to be serious for a minute....

Ampi, I would go to your Uncle, completely dead serious and
let him know how upsetting this whole thing is. Be
completely honest, and id even write down your original
post, as it gives a good portrayal of your actual
perspective. Which is the perspective of someone who cares,
who is seeing the situation from a distance, but is fenced
off and feels helpless.

Fuck the "proud" shit, from what you say, this is way past
worrying about anything of that nature. Mr. window fuckwad
is way out of line.

honestly. imagine youre old and desperate for a bit of
friendly help, then being told it was all lies. he has
serious depression and is crazy like the rest of my family,
so pride is a big thing to him, especially since he can't
wash himself or dress or anything. he kind of knows that
these folks are crooked, but the day he outright admits it
to himself is the day he finally gives up any sense of
security. old people are funny, he's lost everything so
these little things are all he has left.
i suggested going down to see him but mom insists he'd hate
it, pride again. but dad is living with him now and this
window cunt hates it, but he uses every moment that dad
isn't there to get his claws in. once rogers passed away we
can think of doing things to these fuckers, but if we do
anything before (even merely suggest that they've stolen
things) they'd use it against us. i want to send them really
horrible mystery things in the mail, like dead stuff in a
box. they'd never know who it was from, but somewhere along
the line they pissed someone off, someone who sends them
dead things all the time. that'll scare them forever.

I think you should get to the root of the problem; that is
the pikeys!

I would not let them get their filthy hands on your uncles
money, they obviously just want to get in his will too. Do
it tony soprano style and scare them off. but to do this
takes some balls, and i know it's easier said than done.

tape record the bastards .

your dad takes roger out , you place a recorder up high
away from sight
you invite 2 of them around to do a job of some sort, paint
a wall ? ( have they got a key?) if not invite the two
around then leave them to it for the afternoon and go out
,record the conversations etc.

or confront them about it away from roger and record the
convo. get some evidence on tape .

how about doing the gardening? wire up a mic and record
from inside? haha monitor them .

oooooohhhh....wait ......wait...invite around ....leave a
fiver on the floor of the toilet a fiver on the floor of the
living room. ...some kind of letter on the living room table
that might tempt them to ring a mobile number, regarding the
will? when the mobile rings answer record the illegal convo
.......go to the policea or show them the evidence bribe
...get your money back ..then go to the policea .:/

If you uncle is so easily lead, how about duping him into
giving all his money to you, then you can put it back in his
account when he's not looking.

"... especially since he can't wash himself or dress or
anything."

i understand from your posts that he's quite old as well.

what about a nursing home?

if he's a very proud person, it might be hard to convince
him to this, though.

but what about getting qualified people to talk to him,
assess his situation, etc?

sounds like he's in danger really... I'd get some
professional help for him if he really can't look after
himself... or maybe his family could do it, but I know this
can be difficult.

Basically you've gotta get rid of the pikeys. Confront them
about the missing things? Ask your uncle where they are.

Great. How specific and helpful. If you're going to have a
go at someone in a situation like this, at least suggest HOW
to remedy their problem.

if i recall correctly marlowe has mentioned that he is of
romany descent. politically correct or not: if you able to
respect people who are different from you, you will
recognize why negative class/race stereotypes are hurtful to
people who belong to the groups you are disparaging.

nah fuck off. i'm poor and always have been seriously poor.
the context of the word pikey in this case is obvious in
every respect. it's blatantly not meant to offend marlowe
and it seems strange that marlowe is almost keen to take it
as an insult. sorry tho marlowe you KNOW i didn't mean
whatever you think i meant.

offended.

i'm not personally familiar with the usage of that word.

and i didn't mean that as a jab at you.

it's probably a good suggestion that i fuck off...

no you silly tart i just say things :).
and btw marlowe, you've found a way to be insulted by
something here but you needn't be. i think my sniffy
response is because you've hijacked my thread about an old
man being robbed and made an issue out of something that i'm
sure dosn't need as much attention as it's gotten. also you
really needn't call larn names innit cos he's a reasonable

yeah so all that aside...i think things are going to be
alright. my family is looking after him (he has other
relatives too but he's an awkward old bugger nad he only
likes my mom and dad). as for the thieving shits; like i
said, NOTHING can be done until roger has passed away.
they'll use whatever they can, especially now that they've
been cheated of the chance to get something out of him. i
will send them dead stuff. imagine a box turning up at your
house, and inside is a sparrow stitched to a rat. you'd
think 'who did that? what kind of mad scary fucker did i
piss off?'. i kind of want them to know that it's because of
what they've done to my uncle, but it's much better if it's
a complete mystery to them. they wont sleep so well, they
wont feel so safe, they wont feel so fucking smug. they'll
be spooked about it for the rest of their cunting lives
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah!

it is hard to comment because what spelunker said.

i think you and your family should just continue to approach
your uncle and try to reason with him. keep bringing up
observations about specific things they do that don't seem
on the up and up.

at the same time pitch in and do the handy work that they
would normally be doing. when the people show up there is
nothing to do because it is already done.

do you want to solve problems through domestic terrorism? i
don't think sending them things in the mail will do anything
but bring you down.
