it's oft called the san fran of the uk. expect drugs, gays and clubs. also expect loads of rich ex londeners living it up next door in posh hove. it's nice enough for holiday but it's the sort of place where the 'wacky' fire juggling people/trustifarians would get on my tits if i lived there.

I live there.
It's cool and from what I've seen, there are very few weirdos. Except me, I guess.
The point about the gay clubs is true. The way I see it, if they look all shiny, clean and nice, it's a gay club. If it looks scuzzy and old and there are 13 year old girls in thongs and boob tubes, it's a straight club.
I could ask my housemates to find out which ones are gay, if you like.
The 'concourse' is Concorde 2, a music venue.
What are you going to do/ see in Brighton?

In that case, go to:-
Tru, Coalition, Honey Club, Sugar Cube, Kulture Oceana.
I don't go out much, so they are the only clubs I can remember right now. They're for 'straights', btw.
A posh bar, one of the few places that has a dress code is Pitcher and Piano.
Fish Bowl and Mash Tun are good student bars.
Komedia is a cool place for cultured people, too. my friend did a short story reading there.
Yeah, Brighton is cool. Don't go to that other place that orbital is playing at. :)

dont go to oceana unless you are 16 or a total prick same goes for tru in fact all of those places
if you want to go out for some techno, jungle, gabba, acid, dubstep and all that crap then youre probably gonna have to go to the volks
the north laine is full of trendy wankers and hippies the south laine is for posh people west st (where oceana and tru are) is for wankers and townies and daytrippers
honey club is generally shit hard house and wankers
mash tun is full of student dickheads mrs fitzhererts (next door) wagon and horses (opposite) are much better
fishbowl is alright
you should definitely go to the bulldog on st james st

I was meant to be going today, but I am led to believe we'll now be going next weekend. I saw Orbital play in Brighton about 10 years ago, I believe Plaid supported. I like Brighton, I have had many a fine time there.
